MERCY VASQUEZ

Exploring the "Mu Ke Leng" deep in the jungle

Departing from Erdao Baihe Town at 8:30 in the morning, after a one and a half hour drive, we arrived at Jinjiang Wooden House Village at the foot of Changbai Mountain. This is the most intact Manchu wooden house village preserved in China to this day. As soon as we got off the car, the cold wind was biting, as if even the air was frozen. Walking into the village, a group of lovely Eskimo dogs were patiently waiting for guests to arrive in the cold wind, ready to ride their "dog sled". The snow scenery, ice sculptures, and wooden house culture here all make people linger.
