Baling River Bridge

The Baling River Bridge is a high-speed thoroughfare connecting the east and west banks within the territory of Anshun City, Guizhou Province, China. It is located above the Baling River waterway and is an important part of the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway (National Expressway G60). The Baling River Bridge construction started on April 18, 2005; the main bridge was completed on May 18, 2009, allowing the entire bridge to be open to traffic; it officially opened for operation on December 23, 2009. The Baling River Bridge starts from the Guanling Interchange in the west, spans over the Baling River waterway, and extends to the National Highway 320 in the east; the total length of the route is 2237 meters, with the main bridge being 1088 meters long; the bridge deck consists of a two-way four-lane expressway, with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. On October 19, 2013, the '2013 China Anshun Baling River Bridge Parachuting International Invitational' was held at the Baling River Bridge. Thirty-four world-class low-altitude parachuting experts from 15 countries including the United States, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium, and Chile gathered in Anshun to compete in an exciting contest at the Baling River Bridge. On October 1, 2019, the bungee jumping activity at the Baling River Bridge was opened to the public; this bungee jumping set a new Guinness World Record on January 12, 2019, with a height of approximately 370 meters, making it the world's highest commercial bungee jumping facility.
