Dragon Boat Festival at Qianfo Pavilion

Qianfo Pavilion is an excellent destination for the Dragon Boat Festival. Located at the northern end of South Street in Wuzhi County, the pavilion was originally built in the 36th year of the Jiajing reign during the Ming Dynasty and was renovated in the first year of the Xianfeng reign during the Qing Dynasty. It features a three-eave hip-and-gable roof with a corridor-style design, spanning five bays in width and depth. The upper eaves are supported by intricate brackets, including seven-stepped and three-protruding designs, with additional decorative elements such as floating clouds and dragon motifs. The interior boasts tall structures and exquisite carvings, with the upper pavilion's ceiling adorned with depictions of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, Yin-Yang, Five Elements, and Taiji diagrams, showcasing the cultural fusion of Buddhism and Taoism during the Ming and Qing periods.
