Havana: an energetic city filled with history

Havana, the capital and largest city in Cuba is sight to behold. Several parts of the city seemed to have been frozen in time and its lovely architecture is just awaiting discovery. The historic center of Havana is lovely; art déco buildings are juxtaposed harmoniously against colorful colonial styled buildings. You'll be greeted by majestic art déco theatres and hotels that are picture perfect. The presence of 1950s cars further adds to this allure. A bit further you'll find lovely Spanish styled squares complete with colonial styled cathedrals and churches that are majestic and beautiful in its own way. Being the capital of the country, you'll also find pieces of Cuba's revolutionary past. This is most notable in Plaza de la Revolucion, a part of town that is filled with Brutalist styled buildings and monuments. It is nonetheless very interesting to visit and has an iconic Che Guevara façade. Finally don't forget to spend some time chilling and relaxing along the sea, the Malecon. It's a great place to actually eat, while admiring the city and the sea that surrounds it. Overall, Havana is an absolute gem.
