The Yongsheng Coin Museum in Hohhot is the only private coin museum in the autonomous region, located at the old site of Dashengkui Merchant, a cultural preservation unit in the autonomous region. The museum displays over 1600 coins from the pre-Qin period to the various periods of New China. The guides explain the stories of the coins in a simple and understandable way, allowing people to understand the shape, size, casting method of the currency in different periods and the stories behind them. Here, visitors can understand the political changes, economic ups and downs, and the history of currency development over thousands of years in China through these small ancient coins and thin banknotes.
