Tung Ping Chau is the fourth coastal park in Hong Kong⛲, with a rich variety of coral communities on the island, making it a diving paradise in Hong Kong. The shale here is also the youngest rock formation in Hong Kong, and the rich sedimentary rock structures and marine erosion landforms such as marine platforms and sea caves have become hotspots for outdoor tourism and geographical research. On weekdays, there are no boats 🚢 on Dongpingzhou Island. Only on weekends and public holidays are there boats, and there are few trips. Therefore, this place is well protected. Walking around the island, you can see many sea urchins, crabs 🐚, and some natural sea salt in the seawater near the shore. Last Sunday, I visited the oldest rock formation in Hong Kong, the Devil's Fist Rock, and today I visited the youngest rock formation in Hong Kong. Personally, I think these rocks are particularly similar to the Devil's Washboard in Miyazaki Aoshima, Japan! Some geologists believe that 50 million years ago, Dongpingzhou Island was a calm marsh lake, and abundant sunlight and seawater 🌊 constantly eroded the surrounding mountains, and plant debris and sand and mud were washed into the marsh lake and deposited. The main attractions of Dongping Island 🌟 are: Zhanjing Island, Cat Cave, Dragon Waterfall, Conch Cave, Difficult Water, and Geng Tower Stone. When you arrive at the pier, someone will hand out a map and you can follow it to explore slowly. However, Conch Cave and Difficult Water cannot be passed during high tide. I couldn't make it there today, which is a bit regretful 🌞, but it gives me a reason to come back again! ⚠️How to get there: From Ma Liu Shui, take the ferry to go. 🚇Take the MTR East Rail Line to University Station Exit B, walk for 15 minutes to Ma Liu Shui Ferry Pier, and take a ferry to Tung Ping Chau, which takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
