Huai'an Museum (Open Year-Round)

Huai'an Museum, located at 146-1 Jiankang West Road, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, is a comprehensive local history museum, serving as the city's center for cultural relic collection, exhibition, and archaeological research. It is a National First-Class Museum. Originally established in March 1959, the museum features the large-scale permanent exhibition "National Historical and Cultural City—Huai'an," consciously conveying to visitors the most influential aspects of Huai'an's history. The first phase of the new museum, with a construction area of 5,000 square meters, was completed in October 1997. In 2004, the museum underwent expansion and renovation. Initially occupying an area of 5 mu (approximately 0.33 hectares) with a construction area of 7,000 square meters, the museum now covers 13 mu (approximately 0.87 hectares) with a total construction area of 12,000 square meters. Huai'an Museum boasts a rich collection. Highlights include the engraved bronze ware, bronze chariot ornaments, and double-chimneyed primitive porcelain covered incense burners unearthed from the Warring States Period tomb at Gaozhuang in 1978; the wooden drum chariot unearthed from the Warring States Period tomb at Yunhe Village in 2004; and the collection of modern and contemporary calligraphy and paintings donated by Mr. Xu Bofu in 1984. On May 18, 2024, Huai'an Museum was designated as a National First-Class Museum (fifth batch). Starting February 10, 2025, Huai'an Museum announced the permanent cancellation of its "closed days," becoming the first prefecture-level museum in the country to be open year-round. Huai'an Museum
