An ancient village on the cliff in Jiangxi

◆Location: Chouxi Ancient Village, Fuzhou, Jiangxi 📚"The ancient village of Chouxi is located deep in the mountains of Lutong Village, Nancun Township, more than 40 kilometers away from Le'an County. It can be traced back to 700 years ago when our ancestors moved here, built their homes against the mountains, and settled by the stream. The village was named Chouxi because of the high mountains, dense forests, and the constant sound of the stream." - Wu Tong 📚"The village has a castle-like structure with a height difference of nearly a hundred meters... It is accessed by stone paths, going against the stream, all the way to the mountain top." - Fuzhou Ancient Village 📚It is said that in 2018, the county government intended to launch a protection project for it, but there has been no movement to date. Due to geological disasters, the village was relocated more than a decade ago to a new suburban area next to the county town. ◆Inspection Record ♢The overall architectural features of the ancient village are uniform and mostly well-preserved, retaining the original wooden and stone structures. The most characteristic is the Wang family's ancestral hall in the ancient village. ♢The entire ancient village has a superior geographical environment, surrounded by mountains and facing an open mountain view. A stream flows down from the top of the mountain, running through the entire village. ♢The current Lutong Village where the ancient village is located (about a 15-minute walk up the mountain from Lutong Village to reach the ancient village) is known for its bamboo shoots as a specialty industry. During this visit, villagers were often seen digging for spring bamboo shoots, as well as making tools called 'shengsun' from trees.
