Java swept me off my feet in just 8 days. From the sunrise over Borobudur to the surreal blue flames of Ijen, every stop felt like a new world. I hiked Bromo in the mist, wandered through Yogyakarta’s vibrant streets, and got lost in lush rice fields and local warungs. Java is intense—raw nature, deep culture, constant contrast. It challenged me and welcomed me all at once. I left with tired legs, a full heart, and memories that still feel like a dream. Java isn’t just a destination—it’s a full-sensory experience.

Mount Bromo is an active somma volcano and part of the Tengger mountains, in East Java, Indonesia. At 2,329 meters it is not the highest peak of the massif, but the most famous. The area is one of the most visited tourist destinations in East Java, and the volcano is included in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.

When timing any activities in the area, bear in mind that sunset is soon after 17:00 and sunrise is correspondingly early at around 05:30. This means you will usually need to get up by 03:30 or so to get to a viewpoint in time for dawn.

For the keen hiker, this park is a dream come true and you can make your own schedule. There are many possibilities once you are away from the more popular area at Mount Bromo.

Besides being one of the entrances to Bromo and Semeru.This Whispering Sands became one of my favorite spots. The sand dunes that are still wet due to this rain are undulating like violent waves in the ocean. I was completely mesmerized as he said in my heart. i always happy riding in here

There are many active volcanoes in Indonesia and there are many tours. You can find a place at Tugu Manglang Hotel in Manglang, the eastern part of Java Island, the center of Ninni, and apply for a local tour in the nearby area. It is a Spartan course that starts at 3 AM and continues until 10 AM the next day, from the sunrise of Bromo to climbing the volcano crater. When you climb the crater, you can feel that the Earth is alive, just like the saying, Mother Nature. The ground shakes and a huge steam sound rises from deep within the Earth. If you step wrong, you can easily get sucked into it, but it is an experience that you will never forget. I highly recommend it. #SummerCapture #SafeTravel

Depends how you roll - if you get a package dont worry about it, youre not in control so it doesnt really matter. Its a cool place to check out. If you are travelling ruff and rugged here are a few tips.
If you are short on time stay near the mountain, not probolinggo cuz its a haul in the early AM. If you have a lot of time then Probolinggo can be a launchpad for a few days of looking around at waterfalls and whatnot.
If you are a foreigner and are not hiking or taking a motorcycle taxi - when you park the middlemen will hit you up to sell you a ticket for a jeep ride - dont get burned just ignore them and go the little office behind them where the workers sit and ask them for a voucher - theyll sell it at the legit price which right now is 350,000 RP - so while they are right behind the middlemen if you dont know whats going on theyll let you get pinched because thats the way they run things.
As well, they charge you to go see the sunrise and then to the volcano- the day we went the sun didnt come up but they took us there anyway and they knew it was pointless - so there might

trip to Kawah Ijen and Bromo in Indonesia

I have visit the most famous active volcano in #java, #bromo in August’19. The view was really magnificent. My trip was in Bromo and Kawah Ijen for 4 days. For this superb view, it start at 3 am you will go to Kingkong view point by Jeep. Then, climb up to the mountain waiting for the #sunrise . I assure you, it’s worth the wait!

Woke up at 2am just to wait for the sun rise. But trust me it was worth it. Even though it was freezing at that time, but still, it’s nothing compare to what i had to witness. We were on the top of the mountain, how great is our world. I was a little bit sad cause it was foggy at that time, couldn’t really take good picts. You guys seriously need to come here. I will go back again! I’m still not satisfied enough.

Woke up at 2am just to wait for the sun rise. But trust me it was worth it. Even though it was freezing at that time, but still, it’s nothing compare to what i had to witness.
