Songjia Strolling

If you happen to be in downtown Shanghai close to Jing’an and even closer to the Shanghai Center make sure to check out this great price of Shanghainese history. This ancient building survived the craziness of the 20th century and is well preserved in the shadows of the newly build office buildings and sky scrapers. The architectural style is very different from the surrounding buildings but it gives it a certain dominance in the space. This used to be the house of a very prominent Shanghainese family and right next to it is an old Church. Make sure to scan the QR code when you get there for more information about the history of this place. All in all I would recommend this place if you are passing by. sometimes the gates are closed so definitely don’t spend too much time planning a visit. 😀 #urbanexplorer #historicculture#culturalattractions
