Harima Science Garden City 1 night 2 day trip

Construction of this academic city began by Hyogo Prefecture in 1986 and opened in 1997. Based on the concept of "a city in the forest that grows over time", it was created by developing the hilly area on the eastern edge of the Kibi Plateau in the Harima region in southwestern Hyogo Prefecture. In addition to the large-scale synchrotron radiation facility SPring-8 and the X-ray free electron laser SACLA, which support Japan's science and technology, it is also home to the Faculty of Science at the University of Hyogo, the Nishi-Harima Astronomical Observatory at the University of Hyogo, and the Hyogo Particle Beam Medical Center.
