Kawazu Town Sakura Check-in Success Quiet Slow Life.
I made a special trip to Kawazu to check in with the cherry blossoms, and it was really beautiful.
Since I can only go to Japan in February and wanted to see cherry blossoms, I chose to go to Kawazu Town in Tokyo to see them.
Kawazu Town, located in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, is famous for its beautiful cherry blossom spots.
The cherry blossom season in Kawazu Town is very enchanting, with the entire town blooming with a brilliant sea of flowers every year.
Having the opportunity to witness the cherry blossoms in Kawazu Town with my own eyes was a beautiful and unforgettable journey.
As soon as I stepped into this town, I was immediately struck by the stunning view of pink and white cherry blossoms everywhere. Walking under the cherry trees and watching the petals fall should give a sense of tranquility and romance.
In addition, Kawazu Town has some other tourist attractions, which I also successfully checked in.
I arrived in Kawazu Town during the cherry blossom season, just in time for the cherry blossoms to bloom. The entire town was surrounded by cherry trees, forming a brilliant sea of flowers. I strolled along the Kawazu River, enjoying the beautiful scene of falling petals, feeling as if I were in a fairy tale world~
In the early spring of February, when the northern part of Japan was still snowing, Kawazu Sakura of the Izu Peninsula quietly dyed Kawazu-cho to pink.
What is the variety of Kawazu Sakura? Hejin Sakura belongs to the cold cherry. Its tree shape is tall, the color is bright and bright, and the flowering period is very early. As early as February, other cherry blossom varieties have not been seen, it has been opened, and the flowering period is long, lasting 20 days. Therefore, it is the earliest cherry blossom near Tokyo, and it is especially suitable for the cherry blossom festival that the Chinese people watched during the Spring Festival holiday in Japan.
Kawazu Sakura was discovered by the inhabitants of Kawazu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan in 1955, and was planted in the riverside avenues to form the beautiful scenery of Kawazu, and the ancestors of Kawazu cherry blossoms in the picture~ This 600-year-old Sakura old man is still very lively and has a much earlier life than other Kawazu Sakura. Its location is in the middle of Kawazu Sakura Avenue, and you can find it by searching the Kawazu Sakura logs.

Early-ripening cherries
The sakura Blossom Festival in Kawazu is special. It is in this place that the first Japanese cherries of the eastern region bloom. In most of Honshu, this happens in mid-March, whereas here the so-called Kawazu-dzakura dresses in a pale pink outfit about a month earlier.
The festival runs from February 10 to March 10 and is incredibly popular among those who want to spend the winter as soon as possible and meet the bright colors of spring.
How to get there
The main festival area is located right next to the station
Kawazu on the Izukyu railway line, laid from Atami.
You can get from Tokyo by Odoriko express train or by
Tokaido shinkansen with transfer to JR Ito line at Atami Station.
It is interesting
Sakura blossoms in Kawazu a month earlier than in other regions
More than a million people visit the festival every year
The petals of Kawazu-dzakura are large and bright pink - they look like they were created for photography
The joys of the festival
The festival rages in the cities of Kawazu and Mine onsen — mostly along the banks of the Kawazu River. There are many kiosks with food and drinks, souvenirs and products of local artisans on the waterfront.
Entertainment events are organized at the festival, and beautiful illuminations are lit in the evenings. The surroundings of the Kawazu railway station are crowded at this time, so for silence, peace and peaceful contemplation of fleetingly blooming sakura, you should go to the embankment, or better yet, to Mine onsen.

The commute from Shinjuku to Kawazu took about 2.5-3 hours. There’re massive row of blossoming cherry blossoms all over the place! The path is long enough for you to take a lot of photos. And during this period, from February to early March, many snacks and shops are opened to celebrate the blossoming of sakura. The pink fish-like red bean snacks is a must-eat! You can probably spend around 2 hours in this area.
P.S. make sure to check the train schedule before leaving as there will be no more fast train after around 4pm.

I went to Kawazu town to enjoy those cherry blossoms festival this year, and it was an amazing experience. As you can see, Kawazu sakura has stronger pink colour than those blooming late and you can take wonderful pictures.
It took less than 2 hours by train from Tokyo to Kawazu town, which means that you can do a one day trip. #sakurafestival #Kawazu

Enchanting place where you can see and feel spring in winter time. I recommend going early as the crowd seems to arrive in drives around mid day. There are pop up shops where you can different snacks and festival food. It’s 100% dog friendly. i think there were many visitors with dogs than with children ☺️Make sure you check the train schedule on the way back because the intervals are quite long for the local train. You can take the express train but make sure to buy the express train ticket, which is all reserved seat, and it’s quite pricey.

Kawazu Seven Waterfalls Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Amazing 7 waterfalls Izu Island
Come here at spring , if free entry , a perfect beautiful place to be. Hiking along the amazing 7 waterfalls and the forest is so refreshing. This place is worth a visit, it's peaceful here and the sound of the water relaxes the mind and heart. I suggest to bring a hand towel, extra tshirt and drink with you when you come, and also take a restroom first coz there is no restroom along the path. The pathways are well constructed but be prepared for the high and long stairways. This place is breathtaking..nature indeed is home. Will come here again for sure. One of the best hiking experience with nature.
Japan Camping | The campsite embedded in the scenic area in Izu is too great
⛺️ I went to Izu for New Year's camping at the end of the year. After arriving, I found that this campsite was simply the right choice!
🏕 This campsite is in a public park, surrounded by mountains, named after the famous Seven Waterfalls in Izu, next to the Seven Waterfalls Scenic Area, you can clearly hear the sound of water flow all day! It can be said that it has all the beautiful landmarks!
🌾 This campsite is divided into two, divided into several areas, and there are houses that can be checked in with a sleeping bag. You can book according to your favorite area~
♨️ The campsite comes with an open-air hot spring, open 24 hours for free! But toiletries are not provided, and you can't use soap when bathing. Bathing is a coin-operated 200 yen for 4 minutes~
🌟 Here can provide camping equipment rental services, from chopsticks, towels and bath towels, to sleeping bags, electric blankets, etc., can be rented or bought~
🐠 There is also a fish pond in the campsite, you can rent fishing equipment, and the fish caught can be grilled and eaten directly~
🤔 Summarize the pros and cons!
👆 Advantages:
Located in the scenic area, the environment is beautiful and the air is fresh.
The wooden area will not be very dirty when it rains.
Comes with a 24-hour hot spring.
The equipment provided is complete.
👇 Disadvantages:
The kitchen (cleaning table) does not have hot water, but the water is sometimes warm when tested, and you can wear gloves if you need to wash pots and pans.
The hot spring and bathing area are separated. After coming out of the hot spring, you have to put on clothes and go out, and then go into the bathing room next to it, which feels a bit troublesome.
🤗 In summary, this campsite should be a 🔥 season in spring, summer and autumn, and there will be many reservations. There are fewer people in winter. There were quite a lot of people on the two days of our New Year's Eve, and there were very few people a day later. There are also several RVs parked here, in short, it feels like a good campsite, highly recommended~✌
