Cataract Gorge Reserve Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Beautiful Nature Reserve in Launceston
We had half a day to fill in Launceston before our flight home and stumbled upon this peaceful and scenic nature reserve by chance.
Tucked away behind a residential area you wouldn't think of finding such an open area like this but it is well worth the trip if you are in Launceston. There are a couple of easy walking tracks and a couple for more ambitious walkers as well as a fun gondola and cafe for those who like to take it easy. We started our visit in the cafe and ended there as well because the food was so delicious.

Cataract Gorge, Launceston
Great trip to Cataract Gorge. Took the chairlift which travels at appropriate speed, allowing you to take in the views around you and below. Be sure to wear covered shoes since your legs will be dangling in the air. We took the chair for both ways as we are travelling with seniors and it's very very very cold. You can also buy 1 way and then walk to the other side or walk back from the other side. It should be a very scenic walk and I would suggest that you buy 1 way and walk the other leg if you can. Since its winter now, be prepared to wear thick clothings or layer yourself up. A good day trip if you are visiting Launceston. #wintertime #cataractgorge #launceston #tasmania
Cataract Gorge follow by drive to Bicheno.
Wonderful Time at Cataract Gorge, Launceston. The chairlift travels at an appropriate pace, allowing you to take in the scenery below and around you. Then off to Campbell Town for pit stop cum lunch. Continue our journey to Bicheno where we will stay over for a night. As it is winter now, sun sets around 4.4xpm. Took pics of sunset, crescent appearing in the sky and after sun has set. Rested a while and we went for lobster at Lobster Shack Tasmania. The lobster meat is firm, chunky and fresh. Size is big too. Also had chilled prawns and seafood platter. All are nice. #wintergetaway #tasmania #cataractgorge #seafood #bicheno

A lovely recreation and picnic ground steeped in history. Great cafe, playgrounds, swimming pool, and amenities with well maintained gardens and walking trails to explore the beautiful natural surroundings. Of course there is also the famous old chairlift across the gorge. Well worth the small parking fee and short drive from Launceston CBD.

📍Bridestowe Lavender Estate

📅The flower season is usually from December to January
⏰9 am - 5 pm
Located on Mount Arthur in northern Tasmania, Bridestowe Lavender Farm is the largest private lavender estate in the Southern Hemisphere. The lavender here is broadcasted in the mountains, with the terrain rising and falling, the S-shaped curve is very beautiful.
1921, the English immigrants came to Lilydale, Tasmania, where lavender seeds were planted and reproduced. The climate of the island of Provence is very similar, so the lavender plantation here is quite successful.
Due to the seasonal opposite of the northern and southern hemispheres, the mature harvest period of Tasmanian lavender is January of each year, so the best viewing season here is the twelve flowers that have not yet been harvested. month. Christmas is the best time to New Year's Day!
The day we arrived was December 20th, the blue sky and white clouds, the weather was just right. Lavender is ripening and blooming, and the garden is full of fragrant fragrance, the same feeling as Valensoller who visited Provence at the end of June!
Come to Lavender Manor, don't you miss the lavender ice cream produced here? The ice cream cart is near the farm's service center, with 5 single balls and 9 double balls. Tourist service centers also sell lavender products.
After the tour, eat a light meal on the farm, the restaurant has an outdoor seating, you can breathe the lavender aroma. Tall old oak trees, undulating lavender fields, and Arthur Hill in the distance, a ticket for 10 knives per person can be seen in such a beautiful scenery, and it is worth the price.

Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk
#australiatrip
The museum exhibits dinosaur fossils, various Australian biological specimens, the past of Australia's maritime trade and salvage of sunken ships, and the life and craft supplies of Port Arthur Prison at that time. The MIND BLOWN DAN MARSHALL special exhibition upstairs is very interesting. The history of The Launceston Railway Workshops is also important locally. It's fun to have some science-powered interactions outdoors.

Rare Animals - White Wallaby, Tasmania Zoo
Wallabies can be found all over the country of Australia, but the picturesque island state called Tassie is the only spot on the planet where you'll catch a glimpse of these naturally occurring pure white beauties.
Why?
Tassie's gentle landscape means these bright, white wallabies are free to stand out against the brown shades of the bush. They have no natural predators in Tasmania!#animals #rarefinds #rare #localguides #falltrip #didyouknow #australia #tasmania
City Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
City Park Launceston
#australiatrip
Loved the easy walking and shaded areas in the park. Large areas to picnic. The Macaqau Monkeys enclosure, open 9am till 4pm and free. The monkeys 🐒 are so playful and information signs are available. Since late 1800s the park has had an animal enclosure to encourage people to the park, our main reason to visit, before returning to Victoria. 🐒😍
The southernmost point of the world, Tasmania.
I flew to Tasmania before the new year, just in time for Christmas and New Year's Day. The weather was perfect, and it's said that the "only" summer in Tasmania is during this time. I brought some winter clothes but didn't wear them. There weren't many people on the streets during the New Year period, and the New Year atmosphere in the small town wasn't very strong. Basically, everyone celebrated at home.
City park is just across the street from home, which is also a check-in spot in Langsai. The park is very clean, and people often come here for picnics and walks with their children. The blue sky and white clouds in Australia are really beautiful, and photos taken without filters look like paintings.
