In Haikou, Sanya, Lingshui, Wanning, the cost of eating is about the same, fast food is about 30 per person, ordering from the menu is 60-100, and popular restaurants are over 120 per person. Must-tries include Wenchang chicken, Zao Zuo vinegar hotpot, and Qingbu Liang. No need to go to internet-famous stores deliberately, just eat wherever you go, and it all feels pretty good. In the second week, bought groceries, fresh seafood, cooked by myself, reliable and less expensive. 🏚Accommodation: Rented a duplex apartment in Lingshui Li'an Villa area, with a clubhouse and swimming pool, 2500/month. It's comfortable for 3-4 people, better than a hotel. 🛥Entertainment: Beaches and the sea are not worth much, almost no cost involved, expenses are for water activities. 🌴Places like Wenchang's Mulan Bay, Wanning's Riyue Bay, Shimei Bay, Lingshui's Qingshui Bay are enough for taking photos and checking in. If you want atmosphere, go to the beach area of Le Meridien or Westin in Shimei Bay. You don't have to stay at the hotel to go there and can spend half a day. 🏄🏻Water activities: Personal favorites: surfing, wakeboarding, yachting. Try to do it in Wanning, where there's an all-inclusive price. Sanya is full of low-price traps with poor experiences. Paddleboarding, not recommended at internet-famous spots, spending hundreds for a few unimpressive photos is not meaningful. 🎗In summary: 1⃣To enjoy Hainan, you need plenty of time, more than 5 days. 2⃣For accommodation and transportation, opt for quality short-term rentals, or if staying in a hotel, choose top-tier hotels, they are expensive for a reason. Then rent a car or find a local driver-cum-guide, but make sure they are reliable. 3⃣Focus on Wanning, Lingshui, Baoting as the main areas, which have both culture and beautiful scenery.
