Sunset and Thousands of Bats in Flight—Komodo Island's Most Magical Moment

At dusk, between Pimpe Nusa and Pulau Koabe near Indonesia's Komodo Island, I witnessed a spectacular and mysterious natural phenomenon—tens of thousands of bats emerging from the mangroves, streaking across the gradient-colored evening sky, reminiscent of scenes from a Studio Ghibli animation. These bats inhabit uninhabited islands and fly in groups to nearby islands to forage every evening at sunset. The entire process lasts about 20–30 minutes, perfectly blending with the sunset seascape. It is highly recommended to arrange a "Sunset Bat Cruise" by boat, as good weather can truly offer a dreamlike view.
