National museum of Korean Contemporary History, Seoul The national museum of contemporary Korean history looks at the history of South korea since the 19th century, it helps you understand how South Korea became one of the most developed nations in the world. The museum features four permanent exhibition halls which cover the period from the late 19th century to the present, with the themes of "Prelude to the Republic of Korea", "Foundation of the Republic of Korea", "Development of the Republic of Korea", and "Modernization and Korea's Vision of Future". It is an interesting glimpse into how the Korean war in particular and how political decisions and national determination helped South Korea put itself on the world stage through mass production, innovation and culture. The museum has free entry and has seasonal exhibitions along side it’s permanent fixtures, currently they are celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the special friendship between South Korea and the United States of America.
