I originally thought it was just a plain sculpture, but when I looked up close, its size and momentum were extraordinary. It was strange yet cool to see two large doors standing stiffly in the middle of the city. It had a definite presence that I couldn't ignore as a lump of concrete. It felt even heavier when combined with the cloudy gray sky. I was able to stare blankly for a moment through the gap where the wind blew. It was just cool. It suits a cloudy winter day like this better than a sunny day. It's not something I would go out of my way to visit, but it's definitely worth a walk if you're passing by. The photos turned out surprisingly well. When you think of Suzhou, you usually only think of quiet gardens, but there are also corners that tear up the cityscape like this. It feels different but strangely fitting.
