Beng Mealea, the junhle temple

#2024wish I just had an experiment and saw the beauty of the jungle temple on the way to Phras Vihea Provine. The temple looks very antique in the centre of the forest. Beng Mealea, a largely unrestored jungle temple, is home to a wooden walkway for visitors, but more experienced explorers can explore the ruins through rubble-filled corridors and make their own discoveries. The temple, located 70km from Siem Reap, has become easier to access due to improved roads. A private taxi takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes from Siem Reap, with a 2-hour wait at the temple. Return journeys cost between 45 and 55 USD. Taking small roads away from National Route 6 offers a quiet drive through the Cambodian countryside. A tuk tuk tour for Beng Mealea is also available, but it takes 30 minutes per hour without significant cost savings or comfort. Beng Mealea, a small village in Siem Reap, offers a variety of Khmer food and accommodations, including small restaurants outside the entrance. Although the food is overpriced, it provides convenience and supports the local economy. Visitors can also stop for iced coffee or bai chas before returning to Siem Reap. There are no official guesthouses or homestays in the village, but local restaurants can provide blankets and mats on a wooden floor for up to $5 per person per night, although bargaining may be possible. The temple is open daily, but its busiest hours are between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., particularly between November and February. For a peaceful experience, it's best to visit at sunrise, and two hours later, when the light is magical, birds are singing, and the site is deserted.
