Century-old restaurant in Tainan 🍜

Established in 1895, Du Hsiao Yueh is known for its Dan Zai Noodles 擔仔麵. The origin of this dish was when the founder (a fisherman) selling noodles instead of fresh seafood during the off season thus the name. The unassuming bowl of noodles (NTD50) beckons with a rich aroma and savory allure. Egg noodles mixed with seasoned minced pork sauce, vinegar and one shrimp. It is a more watery compared to the Dan Dan Noodles we are used to. Highlights of this meal include the golden crisp Deep Fried Shrimp Rolls, sweet Milk-Fish Stomach Soup and their tender Braised Pork Knuckle.
