The fairy-tale town of Tihany Peninsula on Lake Balaton is filled with a light mist and romantic charm!

⛳ Lake Balaton in Hungary, honored as a national treasure, is renowned for being the largest freshwater lake in Hungary and Central Europe. It is also one of Hungary's top tourist destinations. 🌲 The Tihany Peninsula on the northern shore of Lake Balaton feels like it stretches into the heart of the lake, almost splitting the lake in two. The peninsula rises about a hundred meters above the water, with rugged roads, ancient towering trees, and picturesque scenery. ☔ When I visited the Tihany Peninsula on Lake Balaton, the clouds and rain gently brushed over the town, creating a fairy-tale-like wonderland. Hesitating in the dreamy landscape, I was so enchanted that I lost track of the way home. ✔️Features and highlights: 1⃣️ The Tihany Peninsula offers the most beautiful views of Lake Balaton, with a panoramic view of the lake area from the top of the peninsula, where the vast expanse of water merges with the sky, and on a clear day, dotted with white sails. 2️⃣ The white twin towers, visible from afar, are the iconic buildings of the Tihany Peninsula on Lake Balaton. They belong to the Benedictine Abbey, built in 1055, and are an important historical monument. Opening hours: 10:00-16:00. 3⃣️ Although the town has only tens of thousands of residents and covers an area of 27.33 square kilometers, one can see the snow-white walls and thick thatched roofs everywhere, which keep the houses warm in winter and cool in summer; the skylights on the roofs pop out like eyes, amusingly catching one's smile. 4⃣️ The town has a rich artistic atmosphere, and one might unexpectedly see a line of wooden ducks and geese walking down the street; there are also birds, roosters made of porcelain on wooden fences and walls, as well as running horses and free-roaming sheep, creating a fairy-tale world. 5⃣️ The courtyards and surroundings are full of flowers and plants, and the cherry trees by the lake are in full bloom, creating a scene that seems to say, 'Fallen into the mud they turn into dust, only their fragrance lingers,' fresh and pleasant. 6⃣️ The red-tiled white-walled houses stand out among the green trees. 7⃣️ The town is famous for its lavender cultivation and is known as Hungary's Provence. The blooming season is usually in June and July; many small shops sell lavender products such as essential oils, with a wave of purple romance. 8⃣️ Lakeside restaurants and cafes are a must, where sitting and listening to the wind, the rain, or watching the sunset is quite nice. 9⃣️ You can also take a boat tour of the lake, a must on a sunny day, and it's great for photos.
