Toko-ji Temple itself is a Shingon Buddhism Tozan sect temple called Nisshozan Amida-in, founded in the early Edo period. It is well-known as the family temple of Kamitakada village. The detailed history of Inari Shrine is unknown, but the enshrined deity is Uka no Mitama no Kami. The name means a sacred spirit/god that resides in rice, and as the name suggests, it is the god of abundant harvests. Inari Shrine is located at a high point where the main hall can be seen. And it is enshrined surrounded by tall trees.
