Late Autumn in Tokyo

Timing is everything when traveling to countries that have four seasons. In Japan, spring is perhaps the most popular time to visit when the sakura trees are in full bloom. But autumn also offers a different kind of vibe. There are many places where you can bask in the sight of the golden ginkgo trees and the blood red maple leaves. In fact, locals call such activity as “momiji-gari” which simply means “autumn leaves hunting”. The Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden in Tokyo is one of the most beautiful parks in Japan where Tokyoites would visit to see the autumn colors. Actually, I took those photos last December 3rd. This time is already considered late autumn. The sun set earlier and the evening was chilly. It somehow signaled me that winter is coming sooner.
