Highlight of Wat Muang, Ang Thong: The Great Buddha Statue, over 95 meters tall After the restoration of the temple in 1991, it was opened for devotees to contribute to the construction of the Phra Buddha Maha Nawamin Sakayamuni Sri Wiset Chai Chan. Completed in 2009, this statue is considered the largest Buddha statue in Thailand and the largest seated Buddha statue in the world. It measures 62 meters in width and 95 meters in height, equivalent to a 32-story building. According to the beliefs of devotees, it is said that those who come to pay respects, make wishes, and touch the fingertips of the Great Buddha at Wat Muang, Ang Thong, will prosper in their careers. Each finger of the Buddha is believed to grant different blessings, leading many visitors to touch and make wishes at all the fingers.
