Ancient Towns Around Hangzhou | Kick off this year's spring outings

1️⃣ Wuzhen: Relatively large, and with the enhancement of the Wuzhen Theatre Festival, it has a strong cultural atmosphere. The admission fee for Xizha is 150r, and for Dongzha it's 110r, which are quite expensive. Consequently, the prices inside are also high. The hotels are located outside the scenic area, with a whole street full of them. The dye workshop and the Mu Xin Art Museum are probably must-visit spots. If you're just looking to take some photos, you can find some old houses to photograph for free in the southern part of the town. Tongxiang Station is the nearest high-speed train station, about a 40-minute taxi ride away. Recommendation level: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2️⃣ Xitang: An old internet celebrity town, it used to be free to enter, but now it costs 95r. Hotels booked inside the scenic area may offer discounts. It's highly commercialized with many snacks and bars. With its old Jiangnan houses, small bridges over flowing water, and high-hanging lanterns, it's quite picturesque. The prices are reasonable. It's about a half-hour taxi ride from Jiashan South Station. Recommendation level: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3️⃣ Meicheng in Jiande: Also known as Yancheng, it features Huizhou-style architecture and has a history of over a thousand years. The archways are the most distinctive landmarks, and at the end of Meicheng is the Xin'an River. Free entry, very lively, with many delicious and inexpensive snacks, this is highly recommended. It's about a half-hour taxi ride from Jiande Station. Recommendation level: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4️⃣ Longmen Ancient Town: Less popular, but a filming location for movies and TV dramas. Not yet fully commercialized, it has fewer tourists, a larger village, and a strong sense of daily life. Usually, a 70r ticket is required, but you can also wander around by finding some small alleys to enter. Attractions include Yanchi Night Moon, Old Street, ancestral halls, Longmen Creek, and Yimen. Best reached by self-driving, it's a half-hour taxi ride from Fuyang Station. Recommendation level: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5️⃣ Xixing Ancient Town: A small ancient town in Hangzhou's Binjiang District that you don't need to go out of your way to visit. It has only one street, but it's not much different from other Jiangnan ancient towns. If you're staying nearby in Hangzhou, you can come here to experience a relaxing atmosphere. Recommendation level: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
