Travel Notes of Xiangyang

Ancient Longzhong. Ancient Longzhong is the only 5A scenic spot in Xiangyang, located about ten kilometers southwest of Xiangyang city, you can take a taxi or bus to get there. I have been to some 5A cultural scenic spots before, most of them are ancient towns, temples, stone carvings, etc. Ancient Longzhong is a special one among them, because I can't quite explain what it is even after the visit. Since the name is Longzhong, naturally it can be associated with Zhuge Liang, the Sleeping Dragon. Everyone knows that Zhuge Liang's secluded place is in Nanyang, but Xiangyang and Nanyang are originally close to each other, and they both belonged to Nanyang County in ancient times. As for where Zhuge Liang's thatched cottage is, both sides hold their own opinions and do not give in to each other, and they all cite classics to find evidence. The Ancient Longzhong Scenic Area is probably the practical proof of the theory that 'Zhuge Liang's secluded place is in Xiangyang'. The name of Ancient Longzhong has an 'ancient' character, but in fact, there are very few ancient relics inside. The plaque of Ancient Longzhong at the entrance is from the Qing Dynasty, the Wuhou Temple was relocated from the Qing Dynasty, and there is an ancient well from the Eastern Han Dynasty which is the evidence that Zhuge Liang once lived here. The rest of the content is basically built by modern people based on the allusions of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, so both Three Kingdoms enthusiasts and ancient relics enthusiasts will feel very uncomfortable. The ticket for Ancient Longzhong is 87 yuan, which includes a round-trip sightseeing car. The area of the scenic spot is not particularly large. First, you take a bus from the visitor center to the core part for a few minutes, and then start climbing. The core attractions mainly include the Stone Archway, Wuhou Temple, the modernly built Zhuge Thatched Cottage, Zhuge Qintai, etc. It only takes about two hours to finish the main part. The rest of the scenic area is mostly modernly built content to make up the number. It is said that some situational dramas will be performed in the scenic area, but I didn't see it when I went. It is worth mentioning that when I went, there was a calligrapher writing on folding fans inside, the price was reasonable, so I also asked for a piece of ink treasure. The entire Ancient Longzhong Scenic Area gives people a feeling of being large and empty. As a history enthusiast and a Three Kingdoms enthusiast, I really feel that there is not much to see. I hope that more related content can be added in the future. What tourists care about is not whether Kongming is farming and reading in Henan or Hubei, but whether they can see some unique things through this trip.
