Experience the street fireworks at Xijin Ferry

Xijin Ferry Ancient Street is the area with the most, most concentrated, and best-preserved cultural relics and monuments in Zhenjiang. It is the 'cultural vein' of the historic and cultural city of Zhenjiang, and its name is as well-known as Zhenjiang itself. During the Three Kingdoms period, it was called 'Suan Mountain Ferry', and in the Tang Dynasty, it was known as 'Jinling Ferry' because it was part of our Nanjing territory. It was not until after the Song Dynasty that it was called 'Xijin Ferry'. Xijin Ancient Ferry, nestled against the mountains and facing the river, boasts a magnificent landscape. As early as the Six Dynasties period, the ferry route here 🛳 was already established. The ancient street is about one thousand meters long, founded during the Six Dynasties, and has been developed through the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties to become what it is today. Now, traces of history from the Six Dynasties to the Qing Dynasty can be seen everywhere along the street. Many ancient literati and poets you know, such as Li Bai, Meng Haoran, Zhang Hu, Wang Anshi, Su Shi, Mi Fu, Lu You, and Marco Polo, have crossed the river here and left behind many poems that are still recited by later generations. Wang Anshi, when called to the capital, took a boat from Xijin Ferry and headed north. Moved by the scene, he wrote the famous poem 'Mooring at Guazhou at Night': Between Jingkou and Guazhou lies a single stretch of water, with Zhongshan Mountain only separated by several layers of hills.
