Oktoberfest, Germany's beer festival, is the world's most famous and largest. · It originated on October 12, 1810, to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria (later Ludwig I) and Princess Theresa of Saxony. The celebration took place on Theresienwiese in Munich, which remains the venue for the beer festival today. · Despite its name, Oktoberfest is actually held in late September and early October due to the better weather in early autumn. ⸻ 🍺 Beer Features · The beer served at Oktoberfest is called Festbier (festival beer), brewed specifically for the festival. · With an alcohol content of approximately 6%, it's slightly higher than a typical lager, giving it a richer flavor and a malty aroma. • Only six major Munich breweries offer the official Oktoberfest beer: 1. Paulaner 2. Spaten 3. Hofbräu 4. Augustiner 5. Löwenbräu 6. Hacker-Pschorr ⸻ 🏰 Festive Atmosphere · The Oktoberfest grounds resemble a giant carnival: · Festzelt: Each brewery sets up its own tent, which can accommodate thousands of people. Inside, live bands perform Bavarian folk and popular songs. • Traditional Clothing: Many participants wear traditional attire: · Men wear Lederhosen (lederhosen) · Women wear Dirndl (traditional skirt) · Food: The classic pairing is beer with German cuisine, such as: · Roast chicken (Brathendl) · German sausages (Bratwurst) · Pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe) · Pretzels (Brezn) · Sauerkraut (Sauerkraut) ⸻ 🎶 Events and Traditions 1. Opening Parade (Einzug der Wiesnwirte) • On the first day, there is a grand parade, with horse-drawn carriages carrying beer barrels into the venue. 2. Barrel Opening Ceremony (O’zapft is!) • The Mayor of Munich opens the first barrel of beer in the Schottenhamel tent, shouting "O’zapft is!" (Bavarian dialect: "The beer barrel is open!"), signaling the official start of Oktoberfest. 3. Traditional Music and Dance • A live band will play the "Cheers Song" (Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit), and everyone will toast and celebrate. 4. Amusement Rides · Oktoberfest isn't just about drinking; it also features large attractions like Ferris wheels, carousels, and roller coasters, making it perfect for family fun. ⸻ 📅 Dates and Scale · Dates: Typically 16 to 18 days (mid-September to the first Sunday in October). · Location: Theresienwiese, Munich, the capital of Bavaria, Germany. · Scale: Over 6 million people attend each year, consuming over 7 million liters of beer. ⸻ 🍻 Special Facts · Oktoberfest has been canceled due to wars and epidemics (e.g., during both world wars, and in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). • A beer mug (Maskrug) is a large, 1-liter glass that weighs approximately 2.5 kilograms when fully filled, posing a significant challenge for waitstaff. · Bavarians value "slow drinking, conversation, and enjoying the atmosphere" rather than simply competing in drinking.

🇩🇪✨ Enjoy Bavaria in One Week! Complete Transportation Ticket Guide 🛤️ [June 2025 Germany Trip] Planning transportation for a trip to Germany can be quite confusing, right? This time, based on my one-week journey through Bavaria, I’ve compiled a guide to transportation options, including what worked well and where I made mistakes 😇. Here’s the latest information as of June 2025! · -- 📅 **Overview of the Travel Schedule** | Date | Destination | Transportation Method | |--------|---------------------------|------------------------| | 6/14 | Munich Airport → Heidelberg | 🚄 ICE (German Rail Pass) | | 6/15 | Heidelberg ⇄ Cologne | 🚄 ICE (same as above) | | 6/16 | Heidelberg → Munich | 🚄 ICE (same as above) | | 6/17/19| Munich City Travel | 🚋 Regular Tickets | | 6/18 | Füssen Day Trip | 🚌 FlixBus | | 6/20 | Salzburg Day Trip | 🚆 Bayern Ticket | | 6/21 | To Airport | 🚆 Airport Day Pass | · -- 🚄① German Rail Pass Used a 3-day consecutive **Twin Pass** (unlimited rides on long-distance trains like ICE). ✔️ Buying for two people saves several euros per person! ❗ Currently, Twin Passes are only available at ticket counters (purchased at Munich Airport Station’s Z Zone. The staff were incredibly helpful!). · -- 🚋② Munich City Travel: "Regular Tickets" or "Group Tickets"! · For one person, single rides cost €4.1 / short distances around €2. · For groups of 3 or more, the Group Day Ticket is highly recommended! It’s super economical at €14–18 for up to 5 people✨. · Tickets can be purchased on trams, at station platforms, or via the MVV app. · -- 🚌③ Füssen: FlixBus is Comfortable and Convenient Heading to Neuschwanstein Castle. While you can also use the train (Bayern Ticket), 🚨 The train schedule is too sparse and takes too long! So, I opted for the bus. ▶️ €66 round trip for two people, saving time and ensuring comfort 🚌💨. · -- 🚆④ Salzburg: Bayern Ticket is Ideal · €42 for two people, valid for round trips. · 🇦🇹 Salzburg is included in the coverage area! 🚨 Trains valid after 9 AM are often overcrowded, so be prepared to stand. → If comfort is a priority, consider a rail pass or reserved seating. · -- 🛫⑤ Airport Access: Airport Day Pass · €13.6 for unlimited rides on S-Bahn (S1/S8). · There are no real alternatives, so this is essentially the only option. A bit pricey, but reliable 🎫. · -- ✅ Summary: The Best Ticket Choices | Scenario | Best Option | |--------------------|------------------------------| | Long-Distance Travel | 🇩🇪 German Rail Pass (consecutive days type) | | Within Bavaria | 🚆 Bayern Ticket (RE/RB only) | | City Travel (1–2 people) | 🚋 Regular Tickets | | City Travel (3–5 people) | 👨👩👧👦 Group Day Ticket | | Time-Sensitive Day Trips | 🚌 FlixBus | | Salzburg | 🚆 Bayern Ticket | | Airport Access | 🛫 Airport Day Pass | · -- 🌟 Your travel comfort depends on transportation! I hope this guide helps you make informed decisions about ticket options for your upcoming trip✨. Booking hotels on Trip.com was also super smooth 🛌💕. · -- 📸 Photos and impressions are summarized in a separate post! Germany was absolutely amazing 🍺🍽️🇩🇪.

#tripแจกโรงแรมฟรี Wieskirche or The Pilgrimage Church of Wies is one of the most important Christian pilgrimage sites in southern Germany. Legend has it that someone found a statue of Jesus here and shed tears, so many believers have come to worship. It is also a place on the Unesco World Heritage List. This church is located on the Romantic Road in Bavaria, in a small town. The church stands out in the middle of a green field as far as the eye can see. The atmosphere is very refreshing. The interior of the church is decorated in a beautiful and graceful Rococo style, especially the exquisite paintings on the ceiling. Anyone who plans to travel on this route should not miss it. ✅ Facilities There is a large parking lot here. There is an area for selling food, snacks, and drinks near the entrance of the church. There are also religious offerings from this church for sale. #unescoheritage

This was a big, contemporary hotel located just a short taxi ride from the airport (though don't expect gratitude for taking one, as the drivers—based on my experience with four trips—seemed to have a flair for driving like F1 racers on something). The first impression was pleasant—a spacious open entrance with outdoor seating on the right for the restaurant. The vast lobby followed, featuring seating areas, a grab-and-go section, and the check-in desks located toward the rear. Check-in went smoothly and quickly. After arriving in the late evening during a heatwave, I was relieved to get to my room and take a shower. I picked up a few items from the grab-and-go section, which offered a reasonable variety and had an efficient self-checkout system with competitive pricing. The room itself was quirky, blending modern twists with classic designs, such as the cabinetry style and unique bathroom doors. The bed was comfortable, leaning towards the firm and supportive side, which I loved. There was a range of lighting options, from pink neon to standard choices. However, the air conditioning was disappointing; it wasn’t particularly cold or effective, likely due to the extreme heat outside. While I slept decently, I was still a bit too warm. Breakfast was served in the large restaurant off the lobby and featured an impressive spread across multiple stations. Offerings included hot options like bacon, eggs, and sausage, as well as cold meats, bread, and pastries. Everything I tried was delicious. Overall, this was a solid stay at a pleasant hotel, and I would recommend it to anyone needing accommodation near the airport.

Beautiful hotel with a nice sun terrace, despite the presence of parking lots and garages. I think the drink prices could be a bit more reasonable. The rooms are fantastic, and it’s in a convenient location near the airport and the visitor park, not far from the S-Bahn station Besucherpark. There’s also a bus stop right in front of the hotel. The staff is very friendly, and the hotel has a modern feel.

I ended up at the Novotel somewhat unwillingly due to a flight disruption, but I was "compensated" with a very high hotel standard. Friendly staff, a spacious room, asparagus and Bavarian beer in the restaurant, plus a short walk to the airport bus—what more could you ask for? I was completely satisfied and would gladly return if needed.

In the quiet meadows of Bavaria, stands the Wieskirche (Pilgrimage Church of Wies), one of the most breathtaking expressions of Rococo art in Europe. From the outside, the church appears modest — a simple white structure surrounded by fields and Alpine foothills. But stepping inside reveals an entirely different world: an explosion of light, color, and movement that seems almost weightless. Curved stucco forms ripple across the ceiling like clouds frozen in motion. Soft pastel tones — gold, cream, pink, and sky blue — blend seamlessly into frescoes that open upward into illusionistic heavens. Every surface feels alive, yet harmonious, creating a sense of spiritual elevation rather than architectural heaviness. Built in the 18th century as a pilgrimage church, Wieskirche quickly became recognized as the pinnacle of Bavarian Rococo design. Its emotional expressiveness, technical mastery, and theatrical use of light earned it early recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, preserving it as one of Europe’s finest sacred interiors. 📍 Location: Wieskirche (Pilgrimage Church of Wies), Bavaria ⛪ Known for: Bavarian Rococo masterpiece, pilgrimage church, UNESCO World Heritage Site 🎨 Highlights: Illusionistic ceiling frescoes, ornate stucco, pastel interior design, rural Alpine setting 💡 Travel tip: Visit in natural daylight — the interior transforms dramatically as sunlight shifts across the frescoed ceiling. Wieskirche is not a grand cathedral of scale. It is a masterpiece of lightness — where architecture becomes emotion, and decoration becomes devotion.

#europetrip I stayed at Novotel Munich Airport for one night because I had an early flight the following morning, and it turned out to be a really smart and comfortable choice. I arrived just after midnight, so having an easy, no-stress hotel close to the airport was exactly what I needed. By the time I arrived, the restaurant had stopped serving food, but the hotel still had a small shop open where you could buy snacks and drinks. What really impressed me was that they even had frozen pizzas available, which you could cook yourself using one of the small ovens in the hotel. It’s a thoughtful touch for late-night arrivals who might not have eaten yet. The man behind the reception desk was extremely friendly and welcoming, and he even gave me a couple of apples to take up to my room as a snack—small gesture, but one that really stood out after a long day of travel. The room itself was clean, modern, and spacious, with plenty of room to open luggage and relax. Everything felt well maintained and quiet, which is important when you’re checking in late and need a good night’s sleep before an early departure. Getting to Munich Airport the next morning was incredibly easy. The bus stop is right outside the main entrance of the hotel. I took bus number 635, and the airport was just the second stop. The journey took less than five minutes and cost only €2.10, making it a far cheaper and simpler option than a taxi. I would definitely recommend the Novotel Munich Airport to anyone with an early flight or late arrival. The combination of friendly service, practical late-night food options, comfortable rooms, and fast, low-cost transport to the airport makes it a reliable and stress-free choice. #travel2026 #travel #hellonewyear #munich #germany #hotel

This is among the best Novotels I've visited. The rooms are pleasant, and the restaurant is excellent. The building has great design. The staff members are friendly and accommodating. It's well-connected to public transport, with a commuter train to central Munich and the airport just a 5-minute walk away, plus a bus stop right outside for the airport. The taxi fare to the airport is reasonable, given the short commute.

I really appreciate your kindness! A big thank you to Trip.com for making sure I had a safe flight to Munich.

trip to munich

#airportovernight Munich Airport (MUC) is one of Europe’s top-rated airports, known for its cleanliness, efficiency, and excellent passenger experience. The terminals are modern, spacious, and well-signposted, making navigation easy. Security and immigration processes are generally smooth, and staff are helpful and professional. MUC offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, and lounges, along with unique features like a visitor park and seasonal events. Public transportation to Munich city center is reliable, with regular S-Bahn trains. Free Wi-Fi and ample seating add to the comfort. Overall, Munich Airport is a well-managed, traveler-friendly hub that combines efficiency with Bavarian hospitality.

This time, due to the schedule adjustment, I temporarily stayed at the Hilton near Munich Airport. I felt the atmosphere was very good, and it was very close to the airport. It took only three minutes to walk to the airport. There were restaurants and stores in the airport nearby, which was quite convenient. Although the temporary change of schedule caused inconvenience, staying here still filled a little tension in the journey, and the changes to the entire itinerary could be arranged calmly. In the end, the trip was almost completed perfectly. 🏖️Atmosphere/facilities: calm and elegant

#NewYearNewTrip Munich Airport is about 35 kilometers from the city center. Traveling from the airport to the city center is convenient with many options. But we recommend traveling to the city by public transport. The S Bahn train line S8 takes about 40 minutes to travel to the city. And if we travel in Munich with 1-5 people, traveling together, we can buy a group ticket, which is much cheaper. You can buy tickets through the MVV website or buy them at the automatic machine when you arrive at the airport. #munichairport #munich #germanytravel #europe #europetrip

The moment we arrived at Munich airport

The hotel is located at Nordallee 29, Munich, Germany. The most convenient thing is that this hotel is only a 10-minute public bus ride from the airport 🚌. Public bus number 635 starts right next to the hotel and fares to the airport cost €1.50 and can be purchased at reception, which is very convenient for those who need to catch an early flight. 🚖The hotel is also a 5-minute walk from the nearest S-Bahn station. This hotel is ideally located for tourists or business people who need to make a short stopover near the airport. The hotel's decoration style is modern and simple, the rooms are spacious and bright, and the overall atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable😊. Check-in was a little slow at check-in, but the staff was still very friendly, but if you don't speak German or English, communication may be a little difficult. The experience inside the room is quite good. The room had a sofa bed (for the kids), a Nespresso coffee machine, and some free snacks and drinks🌟. The space is relatively spacious and the memory foam bed is very comfortable. It is worth mentioning that despite being very close to the airport, the sound insulation effect of the room is very good, and you can hardly hear any noise, allowing you to sleep peacefully. The only drawback is that the air conditioning in some rooms is not very effective. If you encounter this problem, you may need to ask the staff to help adjust the temperature. There are also many restaurant options nearby. Mountain Hub Gourmet and The Flave of Munich are both good choices, especially the latter, which offers a wide range of drinks and delicious snacks 🍽️. If you prefer a bar atmosphere, you can also relax with a glass of wine at the Nightflight Bar. Of course, the hotel also has some shortcomings. The check-in process at the front desk is slow, and sometimes you have to wait in line for a long time⏳. And the air conditioning in some rooms may not work well, so remember to check it when you check in. If you have an early flight, the restaurant may not be open yet, but fortunately the hotel provides an early breakfast for you to simply replenish your energy. Overall, the Novotel Munich Airport is a good choice for anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay near the airport. Despite some minor shortcomings, the hotel's excellent location, clean and comfortable rooms and rich facilities are still worth recommending💼. If I catch an early flight next time, I might choose here again!

#magicalxmastrip #munich #hilton I stayed in Hilton Munich Airport to get close to the airport. The room is spacious with two tv screens. In the morning I asked for breakfast in room because I felt a bit sick and they sent me foods and drinks including fruits without room service charge (normally hotels will do). They even sent someone to check my condition whether I needed something else. They informed too where I can get medicine. Ooh that is such lovely high standard customer service. 🥲 I tried their sauna too to warm my body. They have two sauna rooms for female and rooms for unisex. They also have an indoor swim pool.

#2025OverseasTravelEvent I had to spend the night at Munich International Airport waiting for a long transfer. One tip I'll leave is that all shops and restaurants at Munich Airport close after 11 o'clock. There are no vending machines. Thanks to the staff who gave me food to take home, I didn't starve😭 The airport itself is spacious and very clean.

Germany Munich → Tokyo Haneda Airport Lufthansa in-flight meal from Munich to Tokyo ^^ We were served a stylish in-flight meal that was typical of Germany ✨ There was orange juice, apple juice, and beer and wine! Snacks were placed near the toilets at the rear of the plane when it got dark! There were also chocolate bars and snacks, and you could take them as you please 🍫 You can get sandwiches, water, and drinks for free if you ask the flight attendant ^^ It was a long flight, but I felt at ease!

Hilton Munich Airport is located in Munich, Germany, at Terminalstrasse Mitte 20. It is adjacent to Munich Airport, just a few minutes' walk from the terminal, which is super convenient. For those renting a car, the rental point is also close by, making it feel like it was tailor-made for the trip. 🚗 The location of this hotel is definitely a highlight, not only close to the airport but also with convenient transportation around, making it easy to get anywhere. The design of the hotel is very modern, with a lot of glass elements, which are light and airy. There are also many modern art pieces in the lobby, giving a sense of luxury as soon as you enter. We stayed during Christmas, and the festive decorations added a lot of warmth. 🎄 We stayed in an executive suite, which included express check-in and dinner and breakfast in the executive lounge, which was very thoughtful. The hotel offers a very rich buffet breakfast with a wide variety of drinks and food. Although the price is a bit high, the convenience and luxury you can enjoy are well worth it. The lobby and room decor are very sophisticated, spacious, and clean, with an elegant touch everywhere. 🛏️ I was also very satisfied with the room facilities. The rooms in the new building are very modern, clean, and spacious, with not only comfortable beds but also a wealth of hardware facilities such as USB ports, coffee machines, and refrigerators. The bathroom is simple and elegant, and the shower is particularly good. However, the only slight regret is that the air conditioning temperature is a bit limited, especially in summer, when the room can be a bit hot. We later chose to open the windows for ventilation, but the windows were not open very wide, so the effect was limited. 🌞 There are many restaurants worth trying around the hotel, such as Mountain Hub Gourmet, Dallmayr Bistro, and The Flave of Munich. At these places, you can enjoy authentic German cuisine and a variety of international cuisines. Also, there is a grocery store not far away, which is very convenient for emergency shopping. 🍴 The only minor drawback is that sometimes the air conditioning is not very stable, and some users have reportedly been moved to another room due to air conditioning problems. However, overall, the service quality here is still very high, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. 🌬️ Overall, Hilton Munich Airport is excellent in terms of both convenience and luxury, especially for business travelers and those who need to transfer at the airport. Looking forward to sharing more recommended hotels with you next time! 🌟
