Jinhae beautiful cherry blossom
Cherry blossoms are beautiful. Pale pink and in full bloom for just one week each year, they’re elusive and ephemeral. And fickle too.
It’s hard to plan a trip around the cherry blossoms because they’re so damn difficult to predict. They bloom when the weather gets warmer, and in Seoul, that typically happens around mid- to late-April. Exact dates are hard to pin down though. I read a commenter on TripAdvisor describe how she was about to make her third attempt in three years, having mistimed the cherry blossoms by a few days the previous two.
Anticipating an earlier Spring because of global warming, I booked our trip for the last week of March. As we got closer to our departure date though, it became clear to me that we were two weeks too early. True enough, there were little more than red bulbs on the trees when we were there. But luckily for us, there was also Jinhae.
About a four-and-a-half hour bus ride south of Seoul, Jinhae is a sleepy naval town that’s home to the biggest cherry blossom festival in South Korea. It’s warmer there so their festival starts earlier, around the first week of April. #staycation #awesomepic #cherryblossoms

Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival 🌸✨
Just an hour car ride away from Busan, you can find over 3000 cherry blossom trees in Jinhae 🌸
We went on 28 March 2024, and honestly wasn’t sure if we’d be able to see any cherry blossoms bc the cold wave in korea stayed longer than it was supposed to, and all the flower buds struggled to bloom but thankful we managed to see rows and rows of cherry blossoms (albeit not at their full bloom) 😭
📍Yeojwacheon stream (Also went to a cafe called Bobos Cafe which has a really pretty view of the cherry blossoms)

First Blooms of Cherry Blossom 🌸
We booked our air tickets via Trip.com to see cherry blossom in late March. Sadly, we were a bit too early into cherry blossom sightseeing as there was a delay in the cherry blossom full bloom in Jinhae by one week. Jinhae Gunhangjae Festival is highly recommended for cherry blossom. Nevertheless, I am glad that I managed to witness some blooming flowers. It was a spectacular sight to see along Jinhae streets. ❤️ 🌸#cherryblossom2024

##springflowers
I am sharing my experience during spring flowers at Busan. Jinhae Cherry 🍒 Blossom tour in Busan consists of 3 different itineraries/ locations: Jinhae Gunhangje Festival; Yeojwacheon Stream ; Gyeonghwa Station; I am traveling at my own pace and actually find it more difficult to cover all. Arrived at Jinhae, taking a short trip and heading to Gyeonghwa Station by bus service no. 151. The best is to take a day tour to Jinhae Cherry Blossom packages from Seoul/Busan. At Gyeonghwa, where cherry trees stretch beautifully alongside the railroad. It is a very popular spot for tourists and local too.

Yeojwacheon Stream in Jinhae
It has became one of a must visit tourist attraction in Jinhae, Changwon, South Korea, where a Korean drama “Romance” was filmed here in 2002.
The cherry trees are along the walking path of 1.5 m. long of the narrow stream. It’s beautifully blossomed during the spring plus the romantic cross bridge and the cascade into the stream of cherry blossoms bring joy to those visitors.
Over one’s expectation that massive crowd was overwhelming with their attempt to take nice photos along the stream and on the romance bridge.

Don't miss the cherry blossoms in Zhenhai when enjoying cherry blossoms in Korea.
Don't miss the cherry blossoms in Jeonhae when enjoying cherry blossoms in Korea. The cherry blossoms in Jeonhae are very famous in Korea. Every year at the end of March, many tourists come to check in. When you go to Jeonhae to see the cherry blossoms, Yuzo River and Qinghe Station Park are must-visit places.
On both sides of the Yuzo River are large cherry blossom trees. Standing on the bridge and taking photos, it forms a beautiful cherry blossom tunnel! This is also a frequently used filming location for many Korean films and TV dramas! There is a Korean food street nearby where you can taste Korean cuisine, as well as various festive events to watch.
The Qinghe Station, which has a hundred years of history, is no longer in use now, but the tracks and old trains are still preserved. Against the backdrop of cherry blossoms, it makes for a great scene!

Geojedo Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Geoje island
This island is the second largest island of Korea after Jeju island. It is also the region where the largest shipyards are located. I was surprised that the number of people who spoke English on the island was quite high.
You have a very good chance of seeing a thousand and one shades of blue on the island and resting under the glass trees accompanied by the sound of birds.
I wish I want to visit this island one more time for over 4 days because I need to explore more things there…🙏🏽

Rhythm of the rain at Yoondol cafe
#cherryblossom2024
We were having our weekend getaway at Geoje Island but is met with a long life rain whole day, but this dods not stop us from driving around visiting nice places. At Gujora we came across this nice little cafe called Yoondol cafe by the sea in the mountain, and decided to take a break after a long drive. The cafe is designed to have a nordic style church structure from the exterior. We had pistachio cream and Korean leek with red bean cakes as our desserts, coupled with Matcha Latte and coffee, and they tasted so good while delicately prepared. So this is also a very good experience listening to the rhythm of the rain while enjoying our afternoon coffee and snacks.

Jirisan National Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Jirisan Black Pig meal with nice foliage view
While checking out nice scenery is important when sightseeing, having nice meal is also esential during the trip. Who wouldn't like to enjoy a nice scenery while having a nice view? This restaurant located by the valley near Baemsagol offers a marvelous view of autumn foliage leaves by the dining area, called Dalkong restaurant. Grilled black pig (pork) is a special delicacy in Jirisan and many restaurants offers this delicacy but the main plus point for this restaurant is the scenic view of the foliages. The grilled ginseng is also very nice and healthy as well, coupled with some rice wine or beer, it is an enjoyable meal indeed.

Colours of Baemsangol at Jirisan during Fall
It is an annual event of autumn again, and this autumn will not be complete without the viewing of colours and foliages. This time we visited the famous Jirisan located in the middle of Korea, towards the south side. The forecast is pretty accurate as we could see the fiery reds, orange and yellow leaves turned from green. Jirisan spans a huge area across several provinces so we visited a valley called Baemsangol. The valley with a river spans around 2km before reaching the end of the pedestrian way. It is said that there are still bears living in Jirisan as their habitat called "bandal" which means half moon. Peak foliage typically lasts from 28th Oct till 5th Nov, so be sure to catch the date to visit there.

Old pine village guardian tree, Waun Village
Deep inside the village located within the scenic Jirisan area, there lies a village calls Waun village, which means the cloud that lies within. It is a petite village overlooking the river valley of Jirisan. There is a Pine tree which is more than a thousand years old believed to be the guardian deity of the village, measuring 20m in height and 6 m in width. There will be a celebration on the 3rd year of Lunar New Year to pay respects to this deity.
This pine tree is located at the slopes of the village, and there is another similar tree next to it but is several hundred years old. Both are called grandmother and grandfather tree due to their age.
