The West Lake Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
The Beautiful West Lake in Hangzhou 🇨🇳
The West Lake is located in the city of Hangzhou, China. Here are some tips to have a beautiful day here!
🌟 Walk along the Broken Bridge: After snow in the winter, the bridge appears to be broken but it is only a reflection of the lake and mountain reflecting on each other.
🌟 Go to Leifeng Pagoda for sunset: Climbing to the top of this pagoda gives panoramic views of the entire lake and it’s surroundings. It is especially beautiful at sunset.
🌟 Take a boat cruise around the lake: There are many different boats and cruise tours you can take across the lake. Research online or be spontaneous and choose your route on the day!
🌟 Three Pools Mirroring the Moon: There are three stone pagodas in the water that intertwine with the moonlight! This is also a beautiful area to explore during the day time.
🌟 Su Causeway: Walk along the 2.8km long pathway across the lake. During the springtime you can see the peach blossoms blooming and the green willows. A beautiful photo opportunity!
Overall, visiting the West Lake is a beautiful day out and even if you don’t go to all of these spots, you are still guaranteed to have an incredible day!

Hangzhou West Lake Easy One-Day Tour, Beautiful Scenery and Delicious Food All Worthwhile (Tourist-Friendly Version)
West Lake, it's truly beautiful to the extreme, no matter which season you come, you can appreciate the different charming scenery, and it's never enough! Here is a one-day tour itinerary specially crafted for tourists, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely tour around West Lake in one day, both relaxing and full of beautiful views.
After exiting from Exit C of the Wushan Square subway station, head towards Liulang Wenying, where it's quiet with fewer people and not noisy. Then head to the Qianwang Temple pier to take a boat to Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, 55 yuan per person, no reservation needed, just scan the code to buy a ticket, which includes the island entrance ticket and round-trip boat ticket, and it's more cost-effective than buying at Hubin Park. It takes about 15 minutes by boat to reach Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, a great place to take photos that match the 1 yuan RMB note. Then take a boat from Three Pools Mirroring the Moon to the Flower Harbor to watch fish. If you still have energy, you can take a stroll to see the red carp pond, and the lovely mandarin ducks and ducks.
Afterwards, from Flower Harbor, you can choose to walk to Jingci Temple or Leifeng Pagoda. Leifeng Pagoda and Jingci Temple are just across the street from each other, just choose one to visit. Jingci Temple ticket is 10 yuan, Leifeng Pagoda ticket is 40 yuan, I personally recommend Jingci Temple for its tranquil atmosphere. From the higher places of the temple, you can also take pictures of Leifeng Pagoda. Next, you can take the West Lake outer ring bus from Leifeng Pagoda to Xiling Bridge, or take a sightseeing car through the Su Causeway to Yuewang Temple, then walk towards Xiling Bridge. However, the Su Causeway section is two to three kilometers long, and although the scenery is beautiful, I really don't recommend walking the whole way, it will be exhausting!
Xiling Bridge, known as Hangzhou's most beautiful corner, where you can also enjoy the lake and mountain scenery. If you happen to catch the sunset, the 'orange sea' like scenery will appear before your eyes. Then ride from Xiling Bridge to the Broken Bridge, along the way you can enjoy the scenery of Beishan Street, and there are really a lot of people at the Broken Bridge. The Broken Bridge is the last stop of the West Lake tour, it's just an ordinary bridge, if you still have energy you can continue walking forward.
After the tour, you can take a bus back to Hubin Yintai, have dinner nearby, or try different delicacies on Fengqi Road, such as the famous Hang Seng Sisters or Golden Pig Restaurant. After dinner, you can also enjoy the West Lake musical fountain at 7:30 pm.
Around West Lake, there are many delicacies worth trying, such as West Lake Vinegar Fish, with tender fish meat paired with a unique sweet and sour sauce, it's unforgettable; Longjing Shrimp, where the aroma of tea and the freshness of shrimp blend perfectly, the taste is indescribably delicious; there's also Beggar's Chicken, Dongpo Pork, etc. Along the way, there are also many specialty snacks that will satisfy your taste buds. In short, come to West Lake and enjoy this wonderful time!

Lingyin Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
These stunning indoor rain-watching spots are so relaxing, they heal you in a second
The plum rain season in Jiangnan comes unexpectedly. Brewing tea and listening to the rain among the grey tiles and green bricks, one can steal half a day of leisure from life, and the ripples that arise also stir the nostalgic memories of countless people. Today, let's check in at six excellent indoor rain-watching spots carefully selected by Zhejiang Traveler, where the misty rain of Jiangnan is always so intoxicating. (Zhejiang Traveler's warm reminder: When traveling in plum rain weather, the ground is slippery, please pay attention to safety and keep an eye on weather changes.)
🌧️Anji·KE GAMER Exotic Luxury Villa
The continuous misty rain makes the whole Jiangnan seem to be in a haze, with the atmosphere of little bridges and flowing water everywhere. But in Anji, this villa sketches out the hazy rain with an entire hillside, with a strong exotic atmosphere, making one feel as if they are in Norway! Log cabins, black tiles, quiet and serene, opening your eyes to a view full of greenery, the sound of the stream, the air moist and fresh, sleeping here is just too comfortable.
🌧️Hangzhou·Lingyin Temple
Lingyin Temple is even more quiet on rainy days, with mountains and lakes shrouded in layers of mist, and the rain makes the forests look greener. The temple is simple and full of Zen, with lush greenery, hidden in the city like a piece of natural wilderness. Leaning on the railing to listen to the rain is a unique pleasure. (Rain photography tip: Rain reflects light, and a darker background is needed to capture it clearly.)
🌧️Cangnan·Luoshan Coffee House
A coffee house hidden in a village, with a retro architectural style, nestled by the mountains and water, emphasizes a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. It's very suitable for family trips, or to sit with a few friends for an afternoon. On rainy days, sit by the window, feel the breeze, watch the raindrops collide with the lake surface, and immediately merge with the water, giving a calm and healing feeling.
🌧️Wuzhen·Xizha Scenic Area
Promise Zhejiang Traveler to visit Wuzhen on a rainy day. Wuzhen is more quaint in the rain, with fine rain like silk, gently sprinkling on the bluestone paths, making a rustling sound. In the moist air, there is a faint scent of grass and trees. Sitting in a teahouse by the river, watching the flat boats pass by on the river, quietly appreciating this moving painting, immersed in beauty and tranquility.
🌧️Hangzhou·Hangzhou National Version Pavilion
Hangzhou National Version Pavilion, also known as 'Wenrun Pavilion'. To highlight the word 'run' (moist), the biggest highlight of the pavilion is the green screens, which are inlaid with Longquan celadon of varying shades, creating an atmosphere of 'just this green', as if one is in a dreamy Jiangnan landscape painting. On rainy days, as the rain falls in different places, the full screen of green shows different shades of light and dark, very photogenic!
🌧️Nanxun·Jiangnan Fu Designer Homestay
The homestay is located in the ancient town of Nanxun, integrating modern design concepts with Chinese style, creating a beauty of East meets West. Staying in the room, pushing the window to see the mountains, soaking in the oversized bathtub, the body immersed in warm water, watching the drizzling rain outside the window, brewing a cup of tea, completely emptying the brain in the misty tea fragrance, it's incredibly comfortable.

There's a very long bridge that's quite scenic!
Parking is relatively convenient; there are two or three parking lots nearby.
Still, I suggest using eco-friendly transportation because parking fees are a bit expensive~

There are various large and small free scenic spots
It really is the ceiling of domestic travel!

I would definitely say first ✔️Prince Bay Park
Even when the West Lake is crowded with people~
This park remains beautifully on its own!
-
Prince Bay Park is beautiful not only in spring and autumn
On weekdays, there are no bustling tourists here
You can find a bench under a big tree🌲
Or sit in a corridor facing a screen full of maple leaves🌿
Sit on the stone bridge and watch the babbling brook🌊
-
📷tips:
1️⃣The route I took for photo-taking: Enter the park from the bus stop at Su Causeway, walk into the path of the bald cypress in Prince Bay, turn right to take photos of the lake boardwalk and boats (pic 6, pic 11), then go back and turn left to the Fanghuai Pavilion (pic 1, a beautiful courtyard landscape outside the corridor for photos!), standing in Fanghuai Pavilion you can see the big tree with benches that many people take photos of (pic 3), walk from the big tree to the You Ran Pavilion to reach the stone bridge (pic 2)
2️⃣It's very suitable to wear white or light-colored dresses for photo shoots here! Wear a straw hat👒 and bring a book~ Go to the bench under that big tree for photos, full of French pastoral style!
3️⃣The photos were all taken between 9-11 am! The light and shadow are beautiful~ and there are very few people, perfect for taking photos slowly~

Hangzhou Winter Outing Guide | Thousand Island Lake One-Day Tour
Thousand Island Lake Scenic Area, as the oldest resort in Zhejiang, has many different ways to play, and tourists of all ages and travel purposes can find suitable ways to play here. Here is a summary of a classic Thousand Island Lake one-day tour guide for your reference. All photos are directly from the phone.
First, classic boat sightseeing:
The boat sightseeing of Thousand Island Lake is divided into two routes: the central lake area and the southeast lake area. The central lake area has more tourists and better self-funded entertainment projects on the island; the southeast lake area is relatively quieter and has better natural scenery. There used to be three routes in the southeast lake area, but when I went there were only two, which were 9:30-10:30 in the morning (Guihua Island, Tianchi Island and Huangshan Tip, about 6 hours in actual measurement), and 12:00-13:00 at noon (Tianchi Island and Huangshan Tip, about 4 hours). The place where the story of the three monks had no water to drink, Mingshan Island, is now closed. The central lake area should still retain three routes, which are 8:00-9:50 (Meifeng Island, Yule Island and Longshan Island, about 6 hours), 10:00-11:50 (Meifeng Island, Yule Island and Moonlight Island, about 6 hours), 12:00-13:00 (Meifeng Island and Moonlight Island, about 4 hours). Many people do not understand this time interval very well. To give an example, the meaning of 9:30-10:30 in the southeast lake area is that starting from 9:30, as long as a boat is full, it can set sail. The ticket sales time will end at 10:30, and the last boat will leave at 10:40 regardless of the number of people. Each boat is equipped with a tour guide who will explain some stories and island notices.
Second, watch the sunset
In winter, basically the boat sightseeing is close to sunset time when you come back, and there may be some time to buy coffee. There are many places to watch the sunset in Thousand Island Lake. The most popular sunset viewing spot in the city is Tianyu Mountain, with a ticket price of 50 yuan, an uphill escalator of 25 yuan, and a downhill bus of 10 yuan. In addition, there used to be a small road for hiking up the mountain, but now it has been changed to an escalator and is not allowed to walk (except for locals). If you want to walk, you can only walk on the road. I personally recommend the sunset viewing spot is the Fangfei Hidden Pearl Park on the lakeside of the road opposite the gate of Tianyu Mountain. Not many people know about this place, and there is no need to grab a spot. You can also sit on the steps and slowly watch the sun set in the lake. The angle of the sunset is not inferior to Tianyu Mountain. The most important thing is that it is free.
Third, have a big meal
Almost every street and street in Thousand Island Lake is eating fish heads, and fish heads have become the unique signature food of Thousand Island Lake. You can consider the old brand, many stars have also come to this card, some dishes are actually very distinctive. But to be honest, eating fish heads in Thousand Island Lake is just a sense of ceremony, it is not necessary to eat, especially as a Jiangsu and Zhejiang person, thick soup fish heads are almost in every city, and there is no obsession.
Fourth, stroll the night market and drink coffee
Going to a new city to check in to a characteristic coffee shop has almost become a MUST, and I recommend the Top Coffee in Qilong Night Market. In addition to a bit of Hong Kong and Chongqing mountain city feeling, Qilong Night Market is actually very short, a bit desolate, and there is nothing impressive, except for this coffee shop. The recommendation does not need to explain the reason, you will know when you go, you will not be disappointed.
JUST A PERFECT DAY.
Of course, everyone's travel points are different. Thousand Island Lake also has popular photo spots such as the lakeside lighthouse, beer town, and Fuwen Township Central Primary School, as well as more challenging ways to play such as cycling around the lake, mountain hiking, and underwater ancient city exploration. For reference only.

🔎Thousand Island Lake Shanghai-Ma Adventure Park
It's truly a 'heartbeat park' that young people love! A place that combines all kinds of thrills and fun, it's definitely worth a visit!
📈The attractions are spread over two hills, here's my guide:
Order of play:
First cable car🚡——🌈Rainbow slide——🚀Rocket bungee
Second cable car🚡——Sky Island——Sky Walk——High Flying——Glass Slide——Super Skateboard
4️⃣Projects that I think are really fun❗
1. Cable Car Crossing: The cable car ride is half an hour long, with great views all the way, especially when you're halfway through, you can see the beautiful scenery of Thousand Island Lake.
Friendly reminder: Don't forget to take pictures after the second cable car ride, it's really beautiful!
2. Sky Island: The bottom is all glass, a viewing platform at an altitude of over 800 meters. Here, you can see the real 'drone view', overlooking the entire beauty of Thousand Island Lake.
3. Sky Walk: This is a challenging and exciting project, a colorful single-plank bridge encircles the outside of the viewing platform. Walking on it, it's like stepping in the sky, if you're brave, you'll love it.
4. Super Skateboard: The nearly 5 km long skateboard slides from the top of the mountain to the foot, the bends along the way make you feel like you're driving a crazy car, it's a very suitable experience for the brave.
✨Some tips for playing
1. The whole park takes about 3 hours to play. In addition to the attractions, you can also take pictures of the 'thousand islands and mountains' at the top of the mountain.
2. The park is built on the mountain of Thousand Island Lake, the first cable car ride is quite long, the mountain is really high, but the scenery along the way is excellent
3. After the first cable car ride, don't rush to the second one, play the rainbow slide first, save the super skateboard for the return trip
4. The second cable car reaches a higher peak at an altitude of over 800 meters, the high-altitude attractions are already very exciting, it's a real 'thrill adventure park', Sky Island, Sky Walk, High Flying, Glass Slide are all here
5. After playing the glass slide, you'll be near the first cable car stop, then go play the super skateboard back to the foot of the mountain (super fun!
6. There's a parking lot at the entrance of the park 🅿️(there's a 'Qiu Shan Village' sign)
7. There are no restaurants in the park, so you need to bring your own food, or eat at a small restaurant at the entrance, the average cost is 205. The park stops admitting visitors at 15:30, so be aware of the time
8.⏰Opening hours: 8:30-17:30 (15:30 stop ticket checking) You need to reserve enough time
8. The temperature on the mountain is a bit low, you can bring a thin jacket
9. The skateboard requires visitors over 14 years old to play, multiple people are not allowed to ride
The city by the lake
#visithangzhou
Hangzhou is a city in Eastern China and is easily accessible by air, road and rail. The city has a big lake with lots of activities taking place around the lake. Just outside of the city is an area called Thousand Island Lake which is an area with lots to see and do. Some of the popular activities include bike riding, hiking and visiting a bee farm to learn about honey and candle making. Hotels in the area are very cheap and local dishes will usually include fish or prawns from the river #awesomepic #urbanexplorer #foodie #mountainview #tripblazers
