They are not dazzling spectacles, but silent storytellers of this land. The fading colors and weathered walls seem to remind us that time flows on, yet memories always leave their trace. Each mural feels like a tender footnote gifted to Ipoh by the passing years. Then there are the old buildings, scenery unique to this city. Facades blending East and West, wooden shutters worn with age, wrought-iron railings kissed by rust—all stand still, not clamoring for attention, yet radiating the quiet aura of time’s embrace. Their peanut candy is super addictive—light, crunchy, and not overly sweet. I watched them pack the freshly made ones right in front of me, and the smell alone was already enough to convince me. Besides the peanut candy, I also tried their kaya puffs, which were flaky and generously filled. So satisfying with a cup of coffee. The shop is small but busy, packed with locals and tourists grabbing snacks and souvenirs. If you love traditional treats, this is a must-visit. Everything feels fresh, handmade, and full of old-school charm. Definitely a spot I’d return to the next time I’m in Ipoh.
