Yellow River Steel Bridge Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
A Famous Landmark in Lanzhou 🇨🇳
#timetotravel
I heard a lot of people saying that this is just a bridge but upon reading about it while being there I have learned that this was the first bridge in Lanzhou over the yellow and was built by a German construction company with the help of Chinese workers. This is the reason why this has become a tourist spot and probably because of its historical significance. This bridge has become a popular landmark in Lanzhou and in Gansu Province in general. You don't need to spend a lot of time here, take some photos , walk over the bridge.
Enjoy your Lanzhou trip!
Name: Iron Bridge
Address: Binhe Central Road, Qilihe District
🌉 Bridge me to your heart ❤️
Item : The Zhongshan Bridge (Chinese: 中山桥)
Location : Chengguan District, Lanzhou, Lanzhou, China, 730046
Worth the visit : 100% 💯
This place is beautiful both in the day and in the night. Because it's winter, during the day it's more than -10⁰ degress celcius you cant even touch the steel construction of the bridge...grrrr At night it's much worse coldness not more than- 20⁰ degress celcius. I love love love love the cold lol The bridge is beautifully light up at night....very the super the romantic....Imagine freezing cold, you walk in the arms of your love one giving warm kisses like those melodramatic romantic drama hahaha Then you stop buy at one of the restaurant along the river near the Zhongshan bridge. Many halal restaurants by the way. You slurp down a bowl of Niurou La Mian....yummy...What a perfect day.

Lanzhou mistakenly hit a day trip
Although I have been to Lanzhou several times, but every time I just eat a bowl of Lanzhou noodles, or work in the body, did not go through, this time is also going to Xinjiang to turn around I didn't expect to be mistaken in Lanzhou. I could take a day to go slowly and find that all aspects of Lanzhou's rectification are particularly good. The happiness index of the local people is really high, even if it is not weekend. On the Yellow River, there are a lot of people on the loungers, facing the Yellow River, drinking tea and chatting, a cup of tea, a plate of melon seeds, nothing at all, leisurely and self-sufficient, really have a fight with the success []
Lanzhou must come to Zhongshan Bridge, the first bridge of the Yellow River in the world. The earliest known as the Yellow River Iron Bridge, which lasted for three years, was built with a cost of more than 306,000 silver. Who knows how much it will be converted into the current RMB?

Lanzhou Botanical Garden - Enjoying Chrysanthemums in Autumn
Today is China's Double Ninth Festival, and I heard that on this day, people should either climb mountains or go to parks to appreciate chrysanthemums. These past few days, I've seen many people going to the botanical garden to enjoy the chrysanthemum display, so I decided to check it out myself. It was only upon arriving at the park that I realized... wow, it's absolutely beautiful.
The variety of plants and gardens here is particularly rich, and visiting during this season is definitely worthwhile. In addition to chrysanthemums, you can also capture the beautiful autumn scenery.
You can take a direct bus from Lanzhou University's Chengguan District to the botanical garden. The round-trip bus fare is only 8 yuan. That's incredibly cheap.
You can just use navigation to find out which bus to take haha. Happy Double Ninth Festival!
Autumn scenery - Silverberry
In the autumn park, clusters of red fruits hang full on the branches, which is very pleasing. That is the fruit of the silverberry. A poet once wrote a poem saying: 'Expressing the fragrance alone at the end of March, the silverberry should be called the flower that endures spring.' This expresses his affection for the silverberry. You see the leaves on the tree have begun to yellow, but the silverberry is shining at this time, using its bright red color to embellish the earth, making our lives more colorful.
The graceful hanging silk butterfly (2)
Nature is so magical, creating this beautiful golden butterfly flower. While it boasts and displays itself, it also contributes to the beauty of nature. Under the sun, the golden butterfly appears exquisite and transparent, lovely and moving, changing unpredictably in the bushes, like a beautiful painting forever in my heart.

Baitashan Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Baita Mountain is located in Lanzhou City, adjacent to the famous Zhongshan Bridge. The front of the mountain is the mother river, the Yellow River. The altitude here is said to be around 1,700, but climbing from the bottom of the city to the top of the mountain is not as hard as I expected. I estimate that this number counts the city's original elevation. According to the practice of the day, if a young man climbs, he can climb from the bottom of the mountain to the top of the mountain in less than half an hour. Although the slope is a bit steep, it is not too hard overall. If you are driving, you can drive from the trail of the mountain to the mountainside platform. Then walk 5 minutes to the White Pagoda!
From the value of play, the elements that Baitashan can play are not too many. Baitashan Park became a landmark in Lanzhou, and foreign tourists rushed to punch cards. This also shows that this place has its own uniqueness. Then I made a summary, on the Baita Mountain, you can at least play like this!
1: Enjoy the scenery. This is the primary purpose of climbing Baita Mountain. In the mountains, you can overlook the entire Lanzhou city. At the foot of the river is the rapid flow of the Yellow River, and the small Zhongshan Bridge. Lanzhou is an important city in the northwest, the capital of Gansu, and its beauty may be rough. But when you climb the Baita Mountain, if you encounter the sunset, Lanzhou at this time also has its own soft side. So if you want to see the scenery of Lanzhou, or shoot a big city movie, you can't miss it in Baitashan!
2: Appreciation. White Pagoda on Baita Mountain, White Tower in Baita Temple. Yes, it is because of this white tower that the name of Baita Mountain and Baita Temple. The history of this white pagoda can be traced back to the Yuan Dynasty. Around 1228 AD, in order to commemorate the death of a Mongolian lama who went to Mongolia to meet Genghis Khan. The most impressive part of the tower is the regular window of the tower that houses the buddha statues. It feels both mysterious and sacred. The Baita Tower is quite normal in style. It is a traditional Chinese ancient tower type. Although it is not amazing, it is at least very classic!
3: Shoot. To Baita Mountain, there are not many tourists who will take the camera and shoot some beautiful materials. Whether it is the White Tower or the whole picture of Lanzhou City, it is the material that everyone is happy to create. I also share some of my shooting experience here. 1) You can fly a drone in Baita Mountain, but you must pay attention to safety. After all, it is in the city, and interference is everywhere. If you can't come back if you fly far, you can only mourn for you. 2) The time to photograph the city is about 8 o'clock. Because the sunset in the northwest is relatively late, you can check the sunset time of the day in advance and arrange the seats about half an hour earlier. And Lanzhou is more likely to have a sunset glow. If you have a sunset, your photos will be much more exciting. 3) Take a closer look at the white tower body. Here I suggest using a drone to fly close to the details of the Buddha image. Because my flying skills are not good, I don't dare to be too close. If you have good technology, or if you are currently introducing a zoomable model, you can make the Buddha statue bigger and clearer. These Buddha statues are full of vicissitudes of life, a testimony to history and extraordinary significance!

Shuimodanxia Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Encountering the Rainbow Kingdom, the ink Danxia in Lanzhou amazed me
The Danxia landform is one of the most famous scenic spots in the northwest region. This ancient land, which was once a vast ocean millions of years ago, now resembles a huge palette. It takes about an hour's drive from Lanzhou city to reach the area. The entrance to the scenic area is very broad, and you feel the expanse of the land as soon as you get out of the car. The surrounding mountains are undulating, but the entrance is not the Danxia landform. As you proceed with the sightseeing car, you can quickly see the varied Danxia landforms with very peculiar geology. The sightseeing car first takes you to the very top of the Danxia landforms, and then gradually moves downward, getting closer and closer to the landforms. The Danxia landforms in Lanzhou are mainly characterized by red mountains, with a secondary mix of reddish-brown and earthy yellow, due to the perennial drought and differences in sunlight exposure. The individual landforms are countless in their unique and artistic shapes. From the highest point, overlooking the Danxia is like looking at a painting of reddish ink and greenish-blue. It's very beautiful, and up close, it looks like a cascade of rainbows falling from the sky. The Danxia landforms in Lanzhou are different from those in Zhangye; Lanzhou's are only red and yellow, while Zhangye's are multicolored. The entire ink Danxia scenic area in Lanzhou takes about 2 hours to tour. There is a sightseeing car available throughout the journey.
Lanzhou | Walking in the Northwest, the Ink Danxia
I've arrived in Lanzhou! The first stop is the Ink Danxia⛰️
⏰I went there from the downtown area at ten in the morning and strolled until three in the afternoon.
The scenic area is really beautiful, a very typical Danxia landform. If it rained the day before, the colors of the landform would be even more vivid!
🍽️There's a Dicos at one of the spots, so no worries about not having anything to eat, and there are also many local beef noodles and the like.
🛍️When leaving, I bought a crushed glass bracelet at the cultural and creative shop, which is super characteristic and looks great!
🚗To go back and forth, just take a taxi.
Visiting Lanzhou, these 60 yuan were so worth it!!!
How much do you know about the scenic area
Lanzhou Ink Danxia Tourist Area is located on the banks of the Yellow River and the eastern gateway of the Silk Road Hexi Corridor, situated between Lanzhou city and the new district of Lanzhou, spanning Yongdeng County, Xigu District, and Gaolan County of Lanzhou, with the main area in Kushi Town and Shuping Town of Yongdeng County. This area of colorful hills crisscrossed by ravines, stretching from the east side of Dahuaishan to the south bank of the Yellow River, from Zhuanglang River to the west side of Zhutuo Mountain, and to the north side of Dahong Mountain, covers an area of more than 600 square kilometers, comparable to the land area of Singapore. The planned total area of the scenic spot is 400 square kilometers, with a phase one planned area of 25 square kilometers, making it the largest Danxia landform discovered in China in terms of distribution area.
How much do you know about the Danxia landform
The Danxia landform is a masterpiece produced by nature. With the uplift of the earth's crust, the terrestrial sedimentary red beds made a dazzling entrance. Artisans such as 'running water', 'wind erosion', and 'gravity collapse' took the fractures that appeared during the uplift of the red beds as their starting point, and with bold strokes, they took turns to carve out the geomorphological features characterized by red cliffs and Danxia.
Danxia landforms are not uncommon in China, but their concentrated distribution areas are mainly in the southeast, southwest, and northwest regions of the country.
① Southeast region: Here, Danxia landforms of various stages and forms have developed, and one can see the spectacle of 'three generations under one roof' with old, middle-aged, and young formations;
② Southwest region: The crustal movement here is more intense, and the uplift is more obvious, with most of the Danxia being in their prime, such as the unique 'ring cliff Danxia';
③ Northwest region: The climate here is arid, and compared to the gentle charm of the southern Danxia, the Danxia here carries the bold spirit of wind and sand, such as 'window lattice-style and palace-style Danxia'.
Danxia is not unique to China, but only the Chinese have poured abundant emotions into it, thus the Chinese Danxia has gradually taken on a meaning beyond the landscape. The red rock layers, as fiery as flames, symbolize prosperity and auspiciousness, aligning with the Chinese pursuit of beauty; the shape full of imaginative space also intoxicates those who are passionate about expressing their feelings through mountains and rivers.

2024 Gansu Lanzhou Ink Danxia Scenic Area
🌟Highlights: The scenic area is mainly based on the geomorphology of Hongshan Bay, with typical features such as Danxia Cloud Sky, Cang Valley, One-line Sky, Lone Peak, Cliff, and Remnant Hill, etc. The individual shapes are lifelike and fascinating, and they are the best in the Danxia geomorphology landscape. It is called the 'Golden Tourism Resource Treasury' on the Silk Road by relevant experts.
👍Most recommended: There are countless individual geological wonders, such as Autumn Mountain Map, Rainbow Sea, Danxia Reflecting the Sun, Rainbow Hanging Sky, White Silk, White-headed Old Man, Rainbow Waterfall, Colorful Corridor, Danxia Peak - Tonghai Mountain, Danxia Cliff - Dahuaishan. The 'majestic, strange, dangerous, secluded, and steep' resource characteristics of various scenes are like a series of landscape ink paintings.
⏳Play time: At first I thought it was over in 2 hours. If you want to experience it slowly, you may need to prepare for a day. The scenic area has two plank roads. The tour time for battery cars is: 2 hours, and walking is 5 hours.
❤Recommended reason: This is an ancient land. About hundreds of millions of years ago, it was still a vast ocean. Later, with several geological movements, it slowly emerged from the sea. According to relevant experts, the Lanzhou ink Danxia landform developed from the Cretaceous to the Tertiary period. It is a geological wonder formed by the red rock series developed in the Himalayan orogeny with the uplift of the earth's crust. The red sandstone that has been preserved has been weathered and stripped for a long time and eroded by running water. It has been 150 million years since now.

Waterwheel Expo Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Lanzhou Waterwheel Expo Park|Reproducing the glory of Lanzhou waterwheels
|Reproducing the glory of Lanzhou waterwheels. Lanzhou, known as the \"City of Waterwheels\", has built a Waterwheel Expo Park here, reproducing the spectacular scene of waterwheels lined up on both sides of the Yellow River more than 50 years ago. Lanzhou Waterwheel Expo Park is located on the Binhe East Road of the Hundred-Mile Yellow River Scenic Line, located on the south bank of the Yellow River. It is connected to the Zhongli Bridge Wharf and Sports Park in the east, and the Qinshui Platform, Lanzhou Port, Zhongshan Bridge and Baita Mountain Park in the west. Lanzhou Waterwheel Expo Park consists of Waterwheel Park, Waterwheel Square and Cultural Square, which is a theme park displaying waterwheel culture.
In the Waterwheel Park, there are 12 huge Lanzhou waterwheels lined up along the Yellow River. They make a melodious \"creaking\" sound, playing the music of time. The Yellow River in the park is surging, the waterwheels are rotating, and the canal water is winding, reproducing the harmonious scene of the Yellow River, waterwheels and agricultural production. The park is based on the historical site of the \"Waterwheel Park\" for restoration and construction, and fully displays the true appearance of Lanzhou waterwheels. In order to vividly demonstrate the whole process of waterwheel irrigation, the Yellow River water is introduced into a sand field. Looking at the lush vegetables in the sand field, visitors can't help but exclaim: \"The Lanzhou waterwheel is a miracle, it embodies and displays the broad wisdom of Lanzhou people like the Yellow River.\"
Walking in the \"Waterwheel Park\", there is another unforgettable scenery, that is the ingenious garden design. Along the winding canal, various sizes of waterwheels and waterwheel machinery are arranged in a staggered manner. The water splashed by the rotation of the waterwheel seems to make the still garden lively. The beauty of the garden is reflected in the finely carved details. The lawns and flower beds in the park are surrounded by them, breaking the traditional flat layout and adopting a three-dimensional, multi-level greening form. At a glance, various flowers and trees are shining, and the colorful colors are intoxicating. Whether you look up or down, you can see the beautiful scenery. Moreover, the \"Waterwheel Park\" cleverly designed a path paved with stones. The red and white stones are inlaid on the road into the shapes of lotus, chrysanthemum, etc., walking among them, it is like strolling in a \"sacred\" art hall.
Address reference: No. 524, South Binhe East Road, Guangwumen Street, Chengguan District, Lanzhou City
Blue sky flying pigeons (1)
The most eye-catching on the water wheel square, apart from sparrows, are pigeons. Unintentionally, a large group of pigeons suddenly flew up, making a rustling sound, flew around the square and came back, still landing on the square to forage. Perhaps the pigeons have become accustomed to this way of foraging, there are many people coming to the square, and there are also elderly people with children, they keep throwing food to the pigeon flock, and the pigeons have taken it for granted.
Touring Lanzhou, the City of Waterwheels (2)
Walking from west to east along the Waterwheel Garden, taking pictures and strolling around, it's quite enjoyable. On one side are various types of waterwheels, which are eye-opening, and on the other side is the unique landscape of the Yellow River, which is truly unforgettable. Looking back at history, how wonderful the ancient scenery on the banks of the Lanzhou River must have been more than half a century ago, and what kind of feelings will it arouse when it reappears!
A Visit to Lanzhou, the City of Waterwheels (3)
We arrived at the Waterwheel Garden a bit late, so we missed some of the views, which was quite regrettable. But there was also a unique charm to visiting at this time. Not to mention anything else, just the sight of the slender willows full of yellow leaves swaying in the breeze was enough to fascinate anyone. Not to mention the charm of the ancient waterwheel under the cover of the slender willows, and the long-standing and mysterious feelings it brings to us.
