The heart of the Mongolian Gobi Desert: A day in Mandalgobi🇲🇳
[Trip Moment Delivery.🗞️]
Let's go to the central city of the Gobi Desert in Mongolia on this trip!!✈️
🛄 | Mandalgobi🏜
Located in the central region of Mongolia, Mandalgobi is a small city at the entrance of the Gobi Desert. Before I left for the trip, I thought it would be just a simple desert city, but when I visited in person, it had its own unique charm!!🛻
The first thing I noticed when I first arrived was the scenery of vast plains and barren deserts coexisting. The city itself was not large, but the Mongolian gers (nomad tents) were placed here and there, adding to the exotic atmosphere. There was a small market and a few shops in the city center, and the local residents greeted travelers with simple yet warm smiles~
One of the most impressive experiences in Mandalgobi was exploring the surrounding nature. The freedom I felt walking under the blue sky where the desert and the grassland meet was difficult to express in words. As I walked, I saw small oases and wild animals, and among them, the sheep and goats grazing in the desert were particularly impressive. It was a unique experience to be able to see the nomads raising livestock in a traditional way in the vast nature.👏
While touring the city, I also had the opportunity to learn more about the culture and history of Mandalgobi. I visited a local museum and looked into Mongolian nomadic life and traditional culture. It was interesting to see up close the history of Mongolia, the lifestyle of nomads, the tools they used, and their clothing. Also, by talking to local residents, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the Mongolian people's strong lifestyle and their attitude of living in harmony with nature.👍
It was also an interesting experience to taste the local food. I tried the Mongolian traditional dishes of boz (meat dumplings) and khorkhokh (lamb cooked on hot stones), which were juicy and had a deep flavor. The nomads' simple yet energetic diet seemed to relieve the fatigue of the trip. I also tried Mongolian dairy products, arol (dried cheese) and sute tea (traditional tea with salt and milk). At first, it felt unfamiliar, but as I ate it, I understood that it was food that suited the climate and lifestyle of Mongolia~🏜
It was a short trip to Mandalgobi, but it was a special memory because I was able to experience the beautiful scenery of the desert and grassland, the friendly locals, and the traditional Mongolian lifestyle firsthand. Next time, I want to spend a little more time exploring other parts of Mongolia. In particular, it would be an even more special experience if I had the opportunity to go to a deeper desert area or live with nomads!!🫠
