Vatican City, or the official name of the State of the Vatican City, is the smallest country in the world. It covers an area of only 250 rai (400,000 sq.m.). Siam Paragon is even bigger (Siam Paragon covers an area of 500,000 sq.m.). However, although the area is small, its importance is great. It also has many special features.
Vatican City is considered the capital of the Church because it is the residence of the Pope, the supreme leader of the Roman Catholic Church. This city of faith is located in Rome, Italy. The characteristic of a country's territory being in another country's territory is called an "enclave". This is a special feature that only 3 countries in the world have: Vatican City, San Marino (San Marino is also located in Italy), and the Kingdom of Lesotho (Lesotho is surrounded by South Africa).
A must-do Vatican tour when traveling to Rome
The Vatican, a small independent state located in Rome, Italy, but recognized as a separate country. The entire country is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so it's a place you must visit. The Vatican is so large that it takes a lot of energy to tour it, and since you have to wait in line for admission tickets from early in the morning, it's recommended to wear comfortable sneakers. There's also a dress code in the Vatican, so you can't wear short skirts, shorts, or tank tops, and slippers are also not allowed, so it's good to keep that in mind.

#2025 Overseas Travel Event If you go to Rome, Italy, I highly recommend visiting the Vatican. The Vatican is so large that it is difficult to see everything on your own in one day. So I recommend using a guided tour program. A place where you can see works that you could only see in textbooks with your own eyes!

#2025 Overseas Travel Event If you come to Rome, Italy, I highly recommend visiting the Vatican. I recommend taking a guided tour for half a day or full day rather than traveling to the Vatican on your own. It is a large place, so it is good to take a tour to see only the main points, as you cannot see everything on your own.
“Rome’s Hidden Gem: Sipping Fresh Water from a Nasone”
Near the Vatican, I stumbled upon one of Rome’s iconic nasoni—cast-iron fountains resembling small fire hydrants that continuously pour fresh, cool water. Watching a woman fill her bottle, I gathered the courage to cup my hands and take a sip. The water, crisp and refreshing, offers a welcome reprieve for locals and visitors alike. These fountains, whose name means “big noses” due to their curved spouts, are scattered throughout the city, providing free, clean drinking water. It’s a simple yet remarkable experience that adds to Rome’s charm and hospitality.

Vatican
Vatican City is the smallest independent state in the world, located in the center of Rome, and is known as the center of Christianity. St. Peter's Basilica is a spectacular sight, and you will surely be impressed by Michelangelo's works and the splendor of the Baldacchino inside. At the Vatican Museums, the ceiling painting of the Sistine Chapel is also a must-see!
It is easily accessible from Rome city on foot or by subway. There are plenty of accommodation options in the surrounding area, such as the comfortable "Hotel Sant'Anna". For meals, you can enjoy authentic Italian food at nearby restaurants, and pasta and pizza are not to be missed. For souvenirs, Vatican-related items and local specialties are popular.

Vatican Mass and Interior
The Vatican, ruled by the Pope, is filled with people during Mass in the Vatican's large square. From the entrance, you can see various exhibits and cultural assets, and on the way out to the large square, you can see the deeds of past Popes and a golden path. The admission fee is worth it. There are goods shops on the side of the large square, so you can buy limited edition items that are only sold in the Vatican.

Inside the Vatican
Italy A Catholic country ruled by the Pope. It is the world's smallest country in terms of population and territory, and became a sovereign state, the Vatican State, in 1929 by the Lateran Treaty between Italy and the Holy See.
There were numerous exhibits inside, showing the history of the Holy See. That's why a guide recorder is even more necessary. Without it... I'd probably just sit there blankly without thinking.

After a long wait, you pay 30 euros and enter the security checkpoint. The security checkpoint checks for weapons or dangerous substances. It is definitely another country in Italy… . Security is tight. If you want to hear about the cultural assets and treasures inside the Vatican in Korean, it is a good idea to enter, receive a recorded guide, and take a tour.

Vatican Museums
Access: City bus and subway
Tourist attractions: Vatican Museums, Vatican City
Hotel: Near Rome Station
Meals & Restaurants: Food Court
The food court has a bakery with a variety of breads, including croissants, ham bread, and pizza, and the prices are about 400 yen each, which is easy on the wallet even with the weak yen, and the staff were very friendly.
Shopping: Official Shop
The Vatican has its own coins, which are hard to come by, so if you get some in change, it's a good idea to use them.
Rome rooftop bar LA TERRAZZA DI ROMA
This roof garden cafe and restaurant is located on the rooftop of the Atlante Star Hotel.
The cafe, which overlooks the Vatican, has an open, unroofed feel on the top floor. The floor below has covered seating, making it a space where you can relax and enjoy the cafe without worrying about sunburn.
The food menu also offers light meals such as pancakes and crepes, so you can enjoy an elegant time here, which is highly recommended.
I went there in the afternoon, but I was able to get in without having to wait in line.

🇮🇹 Italy Rome Vatican
🥐 Er Maritozzo
I'm introducing a famous Maritozzo restaurant called Er Maritozzo where you can enjoy a variety of Maritozzo, a Roman cream bread, a traditional breakfast menu in Rome, Italy. Er Maritozzo is located near the Vatican Museum, so it's a good place to go for breakfast when you have a Vatican tour during your trip to Rome. It's open from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
Roman Maritozzo is made by putting milk cream between bread, and here you can taste various flavors of Maritozzo such as pistachio, chocolate, brownie, and strawberry. You can choose the Maritozzo that suits your taste. I chose Maritozzo filled with pistachio cream. It was 3.5 euros for one. The cream wasn't too sweet, the bread was soft, and the cream was sticky, so it was delicious.
If you want to enjoy various maritozos in Rome, visit 💚#Vatican

I planned a trip with a friend, but due to my friend's sudden schedule, I ended up traveling alone to Europe. I don't have any pictures of myself because I was young and my phone was probably stolen, but here are the views of Rome from the perspective of a 22-year-old.

Vatican City, the smallest country in the world, is a wonderful place.
I came to the smallest country in the world, Vatican City! It seems that most of the people who live here are religious. The Vatican is a really small area, so you can enjoy it in one day. It's common to visit the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel together! There are also priority admission tickets! St. Peter's Basilica, which is registered as a World Heritage Site, and the paintings on the walls and the architecture were amazing and overwhelming. At the Vatican Museum, you can see the works of the three great masters of the Renaissance: Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael! I was also able to see Michelangelo's Last Judgment and Creation up close, and it was a wonderful time. The soldiers in red clothes were Swiss, so I couldn't take pictures, but they were cool! #Vatican City

✨Must-see course for the Rome Vatican Tour✨
If you come to Rome, you must visit this place,
Vatican City, the smallest country in the world☺️
If you are going to see it in a half-day course, I will introduce you to the main spots you must see💕
1️⃣ St. Peter's Basilica
A cathedral that encompasses the Renaissance and Baroque styles,
First of all, you will be surprised by its enormous size,
and twice by the artworks that fill the wide space!
And most of all, you can see Michelangelo's Pieta👀
Since you need to make a separate reservation for admission to the Duomo,
if you are interested, it is better to purchase it in advance👏🏻
2️⃣ Raphael's Room
A place where you can see the famous masterpiece, Raphael's School of Athens☺️
The painting on the museum admission ticket is a scene from the School of Athens
where Plato and Aristotle are talking. You can also take a cute certification shot with your admission ticket💕
3️⃣ Sistine Chapel
You can see Michelangelo's The Volta (Creation of Adam) and The Last Judgement👏🏻
However, photography is prohibited here,
so you can only admire it with your eyes🥲
The staff strictly control it inside,
so it was better to fully appreciate it!
I recommend studying about the paintings in advance.
4️⃣ Octagonal Garden and Room of the Muses
You can appreciate ancient sculptures here. The famous Laocoon is a must-see
and you will be amazed by the delicate sculptures👏🏻
Take your time and look around :)
5️⃣ Tapestry and Map Gallery
The Map Gallery with its gorgeous ceiling steals your attention🫶🏻
On both walls, there are Italian maps made in the 16th century
by city☺️
It is also fun to compare how much the city I am traveling to has changed from the past to the present!
📍Address: 00120 Vatican City
