Stretching 20 kilometers from Niangziguan Jiayugou in the north to the entrance of Baihui Village in the south, it is an important pass of the Inner Great Wall. Guguan Great Wall is one of the best-preserved existing stone-built Inner Great Wall sections in China, and is the earliest known Ming Dynasty Inner Great Wall. The renowned Great Wall expert Luo Zhewen described it as having "the charm of a mini-Badaling." According to Mr. Luo's research, Guguan Great Wall was first built in 369 BC, 155 years earlier than the Great Wall built after Qin Shi Huang unified the six kingdoms. Although most of the existing remains are from the Ming Dynasty, it has a history of 2374 years from its initial construction, a rarity in China.
