A cozy business hotel hidden in Jakarta.
Amhara Hotel is located at Jl. Iskandarsyah Raya no. 1 in Blok M, Jakarta. This hotel is in a great location, only 5 km from Sudirman Railway Station. The surrounding transportation is very convenient, and it is easy to take a taxi or bus. There are many attractions nearby, such as the Jakarta Muay Thai & MMA Training Hall and ITC Fatmawati Mall, which are very close to meet your shopping and entertainment needs. If you want to see a show, the JKT 48 Theater, the Military Museum and KidZania are also not far away.
The hotel's location is very advantageous, right next to Terminal Blok M, Jakarta's busiest passenger station, and the Trans-Jakarta Station is also nearby. Although the hotel is a bit old, it has all the necessary facilities to provide guests with a comfortable living environment. The front desk staff was very friendly and checked us in quickly, making us feel right at home. The room is well laid out. Although it is not big, it is very comfortable and has all kinds of facilities. For example, air conditioning, electric kettle and hair dryer have been prepared in advance. The hotel also has a bar and a restaurant, the service and taste are good.
In terms of room experience, I stayed in a deluxe room, which was not very big but had complete facilities. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was powerful and not noisy. There was also a coffee/tea maker and a small fridge in the room, which was useful although there wasn't a lot of food in the fridge. The bathroom was simple and clean with the usual toiletries and hairdryer provided, and housekeeping was provided daily and was very friendly and efficient. The only pity is that there is no scenery outside the window, but for business travel, it is convenient enough.
There are many delicious restaurants recommended around. The Café buffet not far from the hotel is great, and Sugar & Spice also has great local food. If you like Southeast Asian food, you can’t miss the nasi lemak with grilled chicken at NUSA Indonesian Gastronomy. At night, you can go to a nearby bar, such as Spectrum, to have a drink and relax.
Although Amhara Hotel has many advantages, it also has some disadvantages. The decor of the room looked a bit old and it didn't look like much had changed. Overall, however, the hotel is very functional and friendly. If you are staying in the Blok M area, this is a great choice. Although the breakfast is a bit confusing, there are many varieties to meet different tastes.
Therefore, if you are not particularly demanding on sanitary conditions, Amhara Hotel would be a good choice, especially for business trips. The location is definitely a plus, the staff are very helpful and overall it's good value for money. I will consider staying here again next time I go on a business trip!
