After visiting the Wulin Traditional Village in Jinjiang, I took a taxi to the Anping Bridge. I saw a long stone bridge stretching forward on the calm lake. The bridge is oriented east-west, paved with stone slabs, and protected by granite railings on both sides. The stone piers are rectangular, single-pointed, and double-pointed, with huge stone slabs spanning the piers as the bridge deck, about 10 meters long. The stone slabs have become smooth and uneven over time. The lake is surrounded by tall buildings and greenery, and the breeze in early winter is not cold at all. The Anping Bridge spans Anhai Town in Jinjiang, Fujian, and Shuitou Town in Nan'an. It has a history of more than 800 years. It is named after Anping Road, the ancient name of Anhai Town. The bridge is about 5 li long, so it is also called the Wuli Bridge. It is the longest ancient stone bridge in China and is known as "the longest bridge in the world." The Anping Bridge is a beam-type stone slab bridge, built in the eighth year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1138) and completed in 14 years. Anping Bridge is a representative heritage element of the Song and Yuan Quanzhou transportation network. It is located on the bay at the junction of Anhai Town, Jinjiang, and Shuitou Town, Nan'an, 30 km southwest of Quanzhou City. It was built between 1138 and 1152, and is about 2,255 meters long and 2.9–4 meters wide. It is commonly known as the "Five-mile Bridge" because it is five Chinese miles long, and is the longest existing cross-sea beam stone bridge in China. The bridge deck is paved with stone slabs and protected by granite railings on both sides. There are 360 stone piers, and huge stone slabs are laid across the piers to form the bridge deck. The stone slabs are 5–11 meters long.
