Shijiao Beijiang Dike Beach: A great place to avoid the crowds during the Lunar New Year
There is a large lawn and beach under the Beijiang Dike in Shijiao Town, Qingcheng District, Qingyuan City, providing a free leisure space for people. The Beijiang River originates from the water outlet of Xiaomaoshan Mountain in Xinfeng County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. It flows through Nanxiong City, Shixing County, Shaoguan City, Yingde City, and Qingyuan City in Guangdong Province, and finally converges with the Xijiang River at Sixianjiao, Sanshui District, Foshan City, before flowing into the Pearl River Delta and joining the Pearl River at Huangge Town, Nansha, Guangzhou. To prevent frequent floods, the Beijiang River has built high dikes, and when floods come, the river is turbulent and frightening. After the flood, the beach is vast, and now it is the dry season in winter, with yellow sand and green grass stretching into one, and the green mountains and blue water are like a painting, making it a famous tourist attraction. Here, you can set up a tent, invite a few friends, set up a few chairs, and brew a pot of strong tea, avoiding the hustle and bustle of the city, the crowded highways, and the troubles of red envelopes. When you witness the sunset sinking into the river, you will exclaim, "A remnant shadow spreads on the water, half the river is blue and half is red." If you are interested in riding a horse on the beach, raising dust in the sunset, you may feel like you are in the frontier, and the heroic spirit of "fighting a hundred battles in the yellow sand, not returning until Loulan is broken" will suddenly arise. Beautiful scenery, few people, and free, that's the hard truth for us budget travelers!
