Paradise Bookstore was transformed from a church. The original main altar of the church is now a coffee shop. The large coffee table in the middle is in the shape of a cross, and candles are lit around the seats, which is full of sacred atmosphere.

Some people say Nijmegen is the oldest city in Holland, others say its Maastricht. Regardless of that, everyone agrees Maastricht is the most beautiful place in the Netherlands. If you're in Holland you really should pay a visit. Walking through the small but cozy city centre you almost don't know where to look. There are old buildings everywhere, bridges, churches, cathedrals and the old city walls that used to protect the city. The Vrijthof square is a favourite location to sit outside with a drink at one of the many bars and just watch the day go by. While you're there have a look inside the 800 year old St Servaas cathedral. When it comes to food, you will be spoilt for choice, especially for restaurants with a strong French influence. One great place is Harry's near the central train station, which was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand. #eurotrip

After exiting the station, walk straight along the main road, and within 10 minutes, you'll reach the Saint Servatius Bridge. 🌉 This bridge is said to be the oldest stone bridge in the Netherlands. The Maas River runs through the city from north to south, dividing it into eastern and western parts. Most of the main attractions are located on the western side of the river! 🌅 The river glows beautifully under the sunlight, offering a soothing view. It was opened in 1878 in Maastricht, southern Netherlands, and has been a family business until today. In addition to producing and roasting its own brand of coffee, it is also a tea packer or tea leaf packager. In Maastricht, there are two Blanche Dael shops: the one in the city center on Wolfstraat, which sells coffee beans and tea leaves for takeaway, and the Blanche Dael Branderij, a roaster and coffee shop on Brikkebouw Street near the Sphinx parking lot. This branch offers a full-service café, beautifully decorated and comfortable, spacious, with lots of seating. There are food and snacks to order to eat with the shop's coffee and tea, and there are also tours inside the roastery. If you are interested, you can book a reservation on the brand's website. This time, we stopped by the Brikkebouw branch for a light afternoon meal. We ordered the following food and drinks: ➡️ Beemster kaas, livar ham A toast sandwich filled with grilled ham and cheese, served warm enough to make the cheese melt. Served with tomato sauce with fragrant curry powder, it goes well together. ➡️ Limburgse Vlaai This is a famous pie recipe from Limburg province, which the shop gets from the bakery Bakkerij Lemmens. This pie has many types and fillings. The shop recommended cherry filling, so we ordered it to try. The highlight of this pie is the texture and the smell that is half pie, half cookie. The crust on top of the pie is slightly crispy, the inside is soft and light, sprinkled with sugar on the surface, the taste is sweeter than normal pies. But when the filling is sour dried fruit, it goes well together. ➡️ Lungo Hot coffee with a choice of coffee beans, whether you want fruity or chocolate notes. The set I chose was a mix of Chinese and Thai dishes, as follows: ➡️ Mango Prawns - Large prawns with bell peppers and sweet and sour mango gel. This dish is light and refreshing, similar to a salad and a spicy salad. ➡️ Lemon Fish - Crispy fried fish served with lemon and a Thai-style sauce that is not too spicy, but overall it is interesting. ➡️ Curry Lamb - Green curry lamb with a very good texture of the curry. It separates beautifully but is not too heavy or greasy. The lamb is tender and not at all smelly. Delicious. ➡️ Bangkok Prawns - Plump prawns served with a Thai red curry sauce, but the taste is soft and light like Western soup. Enjoyable to sip. ➡️ Truffel Paksoi - Stir-fried Chinese kale and shiitake mushrooms, seasoned with beetroot sauce and truffle vinaigrette, adding aroma and a refreshing sour taste. ➡️ Orange Duck - Duck breast in orange sauce, soft and tender duck meat, crispy skin, served with carrot puree and lychee gel. Just walk down the little street opposite McDonald’s — Grote Staat — then take the first left. At the corner, you’ll see a Bershka store. The bookstore is housed inside a former church, and stepping inside is truly breathtaking 😍⛪. I wanted to grab a book and relax with a coffee, but on a busy Saturday, the crowd made it hard to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Plus, every time I tried to admire the architectural details of the renovation, I had to step aside to let people pass. The most memorable aspect of my stay was the hotel's impeccable service. Every staff member, from the front desk to housekeeping, greeted guests with a warm smile and provided attentive and thoughtful service.

This is a popular eatery with a mix of tourists and locals. There are many customers inside so i and my friends decide to sit outside. A man who took our order was so nice! When he saw there was an empty table inside he came and asked if we wanted to change The food and coffee are great! Eggs, bread, avocado are fresh. It’s big portion compared to the price. This is a busy spot. Waited around 30 minutes for a table, they let us wait inside which was very kind. Definitely worth the wait! Ordered before our table was ready then just about when the table was ready we got our food which sped up the process. The food was amazing and I’m glad I went with the waiters suggestion, not a bad price either! All of us that had the open sandwiches did wish there was another piece of bread hut nevermind. This cafe has a great location and normally inworry about quality with pretty looking cafes. The good thing is that the barista was talking and explaining the coffee and the coffee beans roasts. They have dark and mild coffee roasts which I found interesting. As most likely in other cafes they used dark roast. They have also 3 types of cortado, cortado+ they add more milk to it. The staff was extremely friendly, very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about coffee and everything they do. There is a wide selection of drinks to choose from, many of which are quite unique and not the kind of drink selection you can easily find in other places. The coffee I had was delicious. There are options for different milks which caters to anyone with special dietary needs/different personal preferences. We have been many times and their quality, service, and overall atmosphere is unmatched. So cozy and inviting! Their drinks, pastries, and food are all fantastic. They do not have lactose free milk but they have oat milk so there is an option in case of intolerance. We also got the croissant and we got an amazing and very buttery recently baked croissant to enjoy with our coffees. The coffee is made using an automated pour over and is thus decent. Make sure to know which flavor notes you like (I like floral). The variety too is decent and the service seems to be attentive and helpful. Also get the croissant. As good as the croissants in France, my word. Buttery but not heavy, flaky but not messy, laminated with precision. What a croissant. A lot of things work in favour of this place from its setting, location to the atmosphere. It also does quite nice coffees. We had two Americano/Long Black Coffee, as well as two homemade scones (baked in the cafe). The coffee. size was large. Scones were regular sizes. Staff extremely friendly and offering butter and raspberry jam on top of scones. Only reason or scope for improvement would be the quality of the coffee. It was decent but for me it seemed a bit dull, lacking a balanced body with acidity for an Americano. None of us finished our Americanos. The scones were good.
