Where: Yerevan, Armenia
Cascade is a giant stairway in Yerevan which links the downtown area with the Monument neighborhood. The construction started in 1971 and partly completed in around 10 years. There is Gafesjian Museum of Art inside the complex. There are exhibition halls inside the Museum where you can visit both permanent and temporary exhibitions.
Besides exterior steps, there are also escalators rising along the length of the complex.
Outside of the complex there is a garden where sculptures of contemporary artists are presented.
There are number of cafes and restaurants alongside the complex.
This is one of the favorite spots both for locals and tourists in Yerevan.

The best view on Yerevan
#celebrateit
This complex gives you the best view on the city of Yerevan. Probably it’s the most remarkable place in the city. There are many locals and tourists as well. To go up you need to climb many stairs but reaching the top gives you a beautiful reward - the view. We wanted to come there for the sunset but unfortunately the weather was gloomy but we did enjoyed the night view with the lights as well.

At the top, the view of Yerevan with Mount Ararat in the distance is absolutely breathtaking. I took my time exploring each level, snapping photos, and enjoying the vibrant energy of the place. The Cascade Complex is home to the Kafeghian Art Center, a well-known Armenian art center, located in the capital city of Yerevan.
Known as “The Cascade,” the building was designed by architect Alexander Tamanyan. Tamanyan wanted to connect the northern and central parts of the city, the city’s historic residential and cultural centers. With over 500 steps, the city can be reached by walking to the other side of the city.
