This legendary restaurant, which has been open for decades, is still packed every day. People queue up for reservations, and sometimes there aren't any. Be prepared, because this restaurant is truly "serious," not pushy!
As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with the signature Chinese vibe of Khun Chai Tamnak Mangkorn. Gold adorns the walls, red lanterns, rotating round tables, and Lazy Susans. No need to say much...let the atmosphere speak for itself!

Delicious beyond belief in Hong Kong dim sum restaurants! The dumplings are springy and stuffed with shrimp, making you want to shout, "Shrimp!!!" The shrimp dumplings are packed with flavor, not a random mix of flour that would make your gay mother rage. The Char Siu Buns are perfectly sweet and flavorful, and the sauce coats the pork, melting in your mouth. Even Michelin-starred chefs would be envious.
🐓 Roast Duck, Crispy Pork, and Char Siu Combination
OMG! The roast duck has thin, crispy skin, but the meat is firm and juicy, with a subtle smoky aroma. The crispy pork is so crispy, it makes a loud "crack!" sound as you bite into it that the next table turns to look. The Char Siu is fragrant and sweet, coated in a sauce like a pretty cloak, showcasing a subtle sweetness like someone with a secret.
🦀 Fish Maw in Red Soup
The soup is incredibly rich, with a rich, rich flavor like stock boiled overnight, topped with real, bouncy fish maw. It's a luxurious, mouthwatering dish. I even found some lightly sliced blue crabs, just to let you know I'm not a fan of saving.
🐠 Steamed Sea Bass with Soy Sauce
Oh my god! The fish was fresh and bouncy, not fishy at all. The soy sauce was perfectly salty and sweet. It was generously sprinkled with ginger and spring onions. When I opened the pot, I almost cried because of the wonderful aroma. The fish was so white and beautiful, like a Miss Universe steaming it.
🥬 Stir-fried Hong Kong Kale with Oyster Sauce
Vegetables need high heat! The Hong Kong kale was crisp and sweet, with plump stems. Stir-fried with oyster sauce, blurring the leaves from every angle, making them juicy and delicious. It was so much more than your average vegetable dish.
🥣 For dessert, we had to end with "Ginkgo Nuts in Fresh Milk" or "Ginger Dumplings in Ginger Syrup."
Enjoy a grandma's delight! The Ginkgo Nuts in Fresh Milk were fragrant, with a hint of fresh milk and a sweet, slightly bitter, and creamy flavor. The ginger Dumplings in Ginger Syrup were zesty, with a strong ginger aroma. A perfect palate cleanse after three plates of roast duck.
