Kyoto's largest handmade craft market
As a fan of handmade crafts, I not only enjoy creating small crafts during my free time but also love visiting craft markets to admire others' creations and gather inspiration. Japan 🇯🇵, especially Kyoto, is home to many talented artisans. Therefore, every time I visit Kyoto, I make it a point to explore its craft markets.
Kyoto hosts markets almost every weekend at various locations, including parks, shrines ⛩️, and temples. Among the larger markets is the Umekoji Handmade Market. The Toji Market is a more comprehensive market offering antiques, household items, clothing, food, and handmade goods. Other markets include the Forest Handmade Market, Kobo Market, Kamigamo Handmade Market, and Tenjin Market.
This time, I visited the Hyakumanben Chionji Handmade Market, which boasts the most stalls among Kyoto's craft markets. It is held on the 15th of every month 📆. Items sold include ceramic tableware, glass decorations, fabric bags, accessories, hand-brewed coffee ☕️, and more.
If you love handmade crafts, consider spending a morning exploring the market and supporting talented artisans!
