The Only Hotel I've Stayed at Three Times for Business Trips to Guangzhou!
My Experience at Sheraton Nansha Hotel
🧹Soundproofing/Hygiene:
- The swimming pool was clear and clean when first experienced in mid-August; by late August to early September, noticeable moss appeared at the bottom, and there were white flake-like particles about the size of fingernails in the water, but overall, there was no obvious odor.
- The pool area has 2 shower rooms with normal hot and cold water supply, plus 2 restrooms. Although the facilities are somewhat dated, hygiene is well maintained. Public areas like the gym are also kept in decent condition.
- Room cleanliness is good, with no notable cleaning issues mentioned.
🏘️Room Type/Layout:
- The one-bedroom grand suite (corner suite) offers ample space with a well-organized layout, including a living room, guest bathroom, master bathroom, and walk-in closet. The corner-designed bedroom provides great views, and the bathroom features elegant full-green marble flooring, exuding a luxurious vibe.
- The hotel’s public areas are beautifully designed, with extensive marble decor. The lobby has high ceilings, creating a visually impressive effect.
🛌Amenities/Facilities:
- The swimming pool is irregularly shaped (wider at one end), measuring 25 meters long and 1.2 meters deep, without dedicated lanes. It includes 2 shower rooms and 2 restrooms, with amenities like slippers and hairdryers provided.
- The gym is free to use and well-equipped, with treadmills facing the pool for a great view.
- The suite’s bathtub is spacious, and a small TV is available for entertainment while bathing—a thoughtful touch.
- The executive lounge offers a pleasant environment with comprehensive services.
💰Cost per Person:
- A monthly pool pass costs 580 RMB (purchased in mid-August; it was 480 RMB in July).
- Room rates can be checked via the hotel’s real-time pricing, offering good overall value.
💗Additional Tips:
1. The pool is more suited for casual swimming or soaking rather than serious laps. On weekday afternoons (3–5 PM) during summer break, it’s relatively less crowded, but even 5 kids in the pool can disrupt continuous swimming. For dedicated lap swimming, opt for a 50-meter standard pool with marked lanes.
2. Monthly pass holders enjoy 3 hours of free parking per day, with unlimited entries/exits.
3. The front desk provides one towel and a bottle of water for swimmers, but bringing your own towel and slippers is recommended.
4. The hotel’s welcome gift is decent, and the executive lounge service is attentive, with well-crafted cocktails. Breakfast features Cantonese specialties like rice noodle rolls and congee. The dining area is spacious, with minimal queues, though the variety is somewhat limited compared to other hotels of the same tier.
5. Located in Nansha, the hotel isn’t the most prominent among Guangzhou’s Marriott properties, making it more suitable for dedicated hotel visits or business travelers.
6. Owned by Yuexiu Group (which also operates Guangzhou’s Four Seasons and Marriott Baiyun), the hotel maintains quality standards. It stands out among Guangzhou’s three Sheraton properties and is worth a dedicated stay.
