Hong Kong's Budget-Friendly Seaside Hotel for Just $400 Per Person!
【Practical Information First】
🏨 Hotel: Four Points by Sheraton Hong Kong, Tung Chung
💰 Price: Around $800 on weekdays, slightly over $1,000 on holidays
☝🏻 One-sentence summary of its advantages: For the same price, you get a larger, newer seaside room compared to the cramped, old hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui. Plus, it's close to the airport and Citygate Outlets, and just 30 minutes to Victoria Harbour!
💁🏻♀️ Now, let me give you my honest recommendation. Honestly, every time I visit Hong Kong, the hotel situation gives me a headache. As everyone knows, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Tokyo are infamous for having the most expensive, smallest, and oldest hotels in Asia (my words). Not only are they pricey, but the rooms are so tiny that if you can walk through the hallway, you can't open your luggage; if you open your luggage, you can't walk through. But when you're traveling, you want to stay longer, so you have no choice but to settle for less. This time, I stayed in Hong Kong for two nights—one night at the Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel and one night at the Four Points by Sheraton Hong Kong, Tung Chung (both in the same building). To my surprise, they were amazing!!! I absolutely have to recommend them to you! This post will focus on Four Points by Sheraton!
🛏️ First, the room. For the same $800 price, it's more than twice the size of similarly priced rooms in Tsim Sha Tsui! Plus, it's brand new and offers a stunning sea view!
✈️ Next, transportation. Tung Chung might sound far, right? Actually, no, no, no! The Tung Chung Line takes just 30 minutes to reach Victoria Harbour/West Kowloon. If you're arriving by high-speed rail, you don't even need to leave the station—just hop on the subway, and you're there. Super convenient! If you're catching a flight, it's even better! You can see the airport from your room window, enjoy watching planes take off and land, and it's surprisingly quiet! A taxi ride to the airport takes only 10 minutes, and the hotel offers a free shuttle bus to the airport and Tung Chung MTR station.
🛍️ If you're into shopping, the hotel provides a free shuttle bus every 30 minutes that takes you directly to the entrance of Citygate Outlets!
🚠 If you want to visit Ngong Ping 360, take the cable car to Lantau Island, or pay homage to the Tian Tan Buddha, the shuttle bus can take you there too!
🌊 If you're looking to enjoy the sea or explore a fishing village, there's a pier right downstairs that takes you directly to Tai O Fishing Village, where you can experience the charm of stilt houses!
🎡 If you're planning to visit Disneyland, the subway will get you there easily! And the price is much cheaper than staying at a Disney hotel!!!
🍞 No need to worry about dining either. The hotel's all-day dining restaurant, "The Eatery," offers delicious meals with a wide variety of breakfast options, both Western and Asian. You can also dine at the Sheraton next door, which has "Yue" Chinese Restaurant, "Sunset Grill" Western Restaurant, and "Cafe Lantau" buffet restaurant—all of excellent quality!
In summary, I can't praise this hotel enough in just one post. It truly exceeded my expectations! From now on, I won't have to settle for less when visiting Hong Kong. I'll just stay here! Trust me, you won't regret it!
