There are natural ponds with the spring water from the mountains, you can have fun jumping down from the rock or just cooling down after the hike. The water is very clean and crystal clear, just a bit cold because is spring water but it feels perfect in summer. Hiking and swimming in Natural rock pools are a must to do if you are in Xinchang (Baizhang area, Zhejiang). If you are a nature lover you will love to be here. Hiking there is an incredible experience. Great green scenery is visible along the whole journey. The highlight of hiking in Baizhang is to be able to swimming there. The Dafo ("Big Buddha") Temple of Xinchangwas built during Yonghe rule (CE 345- 357) period . 1,600 year-old Buddha that is 15 meters (50 feet) tall.It's nose is 1.5 meters long and The ears are longer than 2.7 meters. The Big Buddha Statue itself is located in a grotto, and is carved of a massive slab of granite Dafo Temple itself is constructed with five levels with several halls like the Heavenly King Hall, the Dafo (Big Buddha) Hall and the Scripture Hall. Around the temple site, there are other attractions such as the Free Life Pond, the Thousand Buddha Temple, and the Baoruo Valley (Prajna Valley). The Free Life Pond next to the temple reflects the surrounding trees and hills. You can see it as you enter through the gate. Xinchang is south of Shaoxing. There are direct buses from Shaoxing for 33 RMB. They arrive in about 1.5 hours. From the bus station, taxi rides to the Big Buddha Temple (Dafo Si (大佛寺) cost about 15 RMB (2.3 USD) You can take Bus No.2, No.6, No.7 or No.8 to get to the Dafo Cheng Station.
