Furumine Shrine in Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 A shrine located deep in the mountains near the Oashi River. It is also called the "birthplace of Nikko" because Shodo Shonin, who is said to be the founder of Nikko Mountain, practiced his training here. During the era when Shugendo was very much in the air, it was a custom for monks from all over Nikko to practice their training here at Furuminegahara. The enshrined deity is Emperor Yamato Takeru.
