Griffith Observatory for NON-GEEKS
If you are not a fan of museums like me, there is still a reason to visit Griffith Observatory - the fantastic view of LA.
I took LA DOT’s FREE (YES IT IS FOC) DASH Observatory/ Los Feliz bus to Griffith Observatory, and it dropped us off right at the entrance. The bus ride was fun, and we got to see some cool sights along the way.
Once we arrived, we climbed up a little hill to reach the observatory, and the view was amazing! We could see all of Los Angeles spread out below us like a giant puzzle. The tall buildings downtown, the Hollywood sign in the distance, and rolling hills of Griffith Park. We spent hours just staring at the view and taking pictures. Inside the observatory, we learned all about space and stars, but nothing beats the view from outside.

Hong Kong is a destination with so much culture, outdoors, nightlife, food and history! I want to travel to Hong Kong and spend a day in the famous Ocean Park, enjoy seafood in Sai Kung and perhaps even hop on a ferry to Macau!

The LA Observatory's summit offers an unparalleled vista of both downtown Los Angeles and the iconic Hollywood sign. From this lofty perch, the sprawling metropolis unfurls beneath you, its pulsating energy palpable even from afar. Skyscrapers punctuate the cityscape while the Hollywood sign stands as a beacon of cinematic history against the backdrop of the Santa Monica Mountains. As the sun sets, the skyline ignites with a kaleidoscope of colours, casting a mesmerizing glow over the urban landscape. It's a panoramic tableau that captures the essence of LA's allure, blending glamour, ambition, and dreams under the vast Californian sky. I believe this will make you no regret for such a trip!

A Visit to Griffith Observatory
Griffith Observatory is located at 2800 E Observatory Rd., Los Angeles, California 90027
United States.
It is an Art Deco stargazing spot atop Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park. For those astronomy enthusiasts or who are interested in stargazing is one of the best spot.
The Griffith Observatory#GriffithObservatory is one of the most visited observatories in the world with various reasons. Beside arts and stargazing, the view of Hollywood sign from here with the photogenic views is where many visitors as well.
Of course, Griffith Observatory's main draw, though the free entry was certainly a bonus. A fee of between $6 and $10 to see the planetarium shows is worth it if you happen to be there too.

Griffith Observatory is a planetarium & astronomy museum, and is a great free thing to do in Los Angeles, California. It’s also great for hikes with excellent panoramic views of the Hollywood Sign, Downtown L.A., and Pacific Ocean on clear days.
Griffith Observatory was built to make astronomy accessible to the public, and compete with some of the best mountaintop observatories already existing along the West Coast. Inside the exhibit area of Griffith Observatory today, you can see comparisons to some of these observatories today.
If you have never been to Griffith Observatory, it is a must-visit place . It is amazing day or night.

not going to lie, we drove to griffith after visiting the renowned Hollywood sign, which you are able to see from Griffith. parking lots were plenty however it is a popular attraction hence might need to spend time finding parking.
free admission with lots to see if you’re into telescope and stuff. this place is one of the few in the world that still produces exclusively live planetarium shows if you like such stuff.
also, because of how central it’s located and because it’s up the hill, it’s located at a good spot where you can oversea the skyline of LA. beautiful.
do check for operating hours. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you’re in LA.

Griffith Observatory is one of the only major facilities in the world that still produces exclusively live planetarium shows. Over 100,000 shows have been presented since the building opened in 1935.
Admission is free for all but do check out the opening hours (currently only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
The Observatory’s Zeiss Mark II planetarium projector was used for the Observatory’s first 29 years of operation (1935-1964). It is now on display as part of Griffith Observatory’s exhibit program. In the 1990s, Observatory staff had to customize streetlight bulbs for use in the Zeiss Mark IV projector because the original bulbs were no longer produced.
Skyline of Los Angeles from Griffith Observatory 🇺🇸
Griffith Observatory is an icon of Los Angeles, a national leader in public astronomy, a beloved civic gathering place, and one of southern California’s most popular attractions. The Observatory is located on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park, just above the Los Feliz neighborhood. It is 1,134 feet above sea level and is visible from many parts of the Los Angeles basin. The Observatory is the best vantage point for observing the world-famous Hollywood Sign. Since opening in 1935, the Observatory has welcomed over 85 million visitors. Open late nearly every evening, Griffith Observatory’s audience is “the general public,” and it is one of the rare places where you will see people from every part of the region and from all parts of the world.
The Observatory is a free-admission, public facility owned and operated by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks in the middle of an urban metropolis of ten million people. The 67,000 square-foot building is one of the most popular informal education facilities in the United States and the most-visited public observatory in the world (with 1.6 million visitors a year). Griffith Observatory is a unique hybrid of public observatory, planetarium, and exhibition space. It was constructed with funds from the bequest of Griffith J. Griffith (who donated the land for Griffith Park in 1896), who specified the purpose, features, and location of the building in his 1919 will. Upon completion of construction in 1935, the Observatory was given to the City of Los Angeles with the provision that it be operated for the public with no admission charge. When it opened in 1935, it was one of the first institutions in the U.S. dedicated to public science and possessed the third planetarium in the U.S.
Fulfilling the Observatory’s goal of “visitor as observer,” free public telescope viewing is available each evening skies are clear and the building is open. More people (8 million) have looked through the Observatory’s Zeiss 12-inch refracting telescope than through any other on Earth. More than 18 million have seen a live program in the Observatory’s Samuel Oschin Planetarium.
The building operated continuously from 1935 until January 6, 2002, when it closed for a comprehensive renovation and expansion. This ambitious $93-million project renewed the Observatory’s world-class standing and restored and enhanced the Observatory’s ability to pursue its public astronomy mission, all driven by a commitment to excellence and enabled by a successful public-private partnership between the City of Los Angeles and Friends Of The Observatory. The renewed building reopened to the public on November 2, 2006. It has operated since then with steadily increasing attendance and cultural visibility.

Griffith’s Telescope
opened in 1935, #griffithobservatory gives you the best view of #losangeles. 👼🏻 after browsing through astronomical exhibits about solar eclipses, tides, and related instruments, you can watch a film at the oschin #planetarium. 🪐 at night, you can even look through the very 12-inch zeiss telescope that griffith himself looked through! 🔭 it is said to be the most looked through telescope by the public. 👀

Beautiful views from high above LA!
A must visit place if you are visiting Los Angeles! Being high above LA and admiring the beautiful scenery was absolutely stunning! This place has beautiful views as far as the eye can see you could clearly see the Hollywood sign and the entire city of LA! Inside the observatory, there are a lot of interesting information help to understand better about our universe.
Parking is so crowded and expensive. You may park far away and walk up the hill the rest of the way. So while walking inside, you should see the beautiful landscape around. HIGLY RECOMENDED TO VISIT!

I love visiting California since it is so close to home! The Griffith Observatory is a great place to see an amazing view of the City!
When I arrived at Griffith, it was almost dusk. After stopping the car, I could watch the sunset directly.
The mountain winds at night are very cold and cold, and the temperature drops by ten degrees. It feels like being fooled by the wind. Unfortunately, the fog was very strong at sunset, so I didn't expect it to be so clear and overlooking the entire LA. But the sunset is still beautiful, and the rich orange-red color is red.
You need to watch the stars directly on the official website oh

Griffith Observatory in LA
Every moment is a beautiful memory in harmony with the ever-changing sky. You can see the night view of LA at a glance, and even if you just look at the scenery for a few hours, you won't notice the passage of time. Although there are a lot of people and the lines for telescopes are long, there is a lot of diverse content, including internal exhibition halls and small performances held every day.
Monday is a closed day! You can't go inside the observatory building, but the view from outside was really nice.
If you are worried about transportation, we recommend a small bus called ‘DASH’!
*Use the ‘FLYAWAY’ airport shuttle from LA Airport to downtown (Union Station) station (pay for a tap transportation cart), then take the subway line B and get off at Vermont Station. I happened to board a bus called ‘DASH’ at the station entrance.
It was dropped off right in front of Griffith Observatory, so you didn't have to walk for even a minute, and for some reason it was free. I looked it up and it was originally 50 cents? They say you have to pay a certain amount, but it was free when I visited on Monday. The bus leaves Greenwich Lookout every 20 minutes.)

🌈 The holiday season is here, and many friends are planning to travel to Los Angeles from abroad.
❓ What kind of travel should be used in the United States?
⚠️ It is not recommended ❌ Some choose to join a tour group, but there are various inconveniences with tour groups, such as having to wake up early to catch a bus every day, and there might be many additional expenses, the itinerary is not free, and the travel experience is directly linked to the tour guide.
⚠️ It is not recommended ❌ Others talk about renting a car for a road trip in the United States, which is convenient, but there are also many problems. First of all, the traffic rules in the United States are very different from those at home, and you need to get a translation of your domestic driver's license. Secondly, being unfamiliar with the roads and finding parking can also be a big problem, as well as safety issues.

Hunting for La La Land: Ryan Gosling, I'm Waiting! 🌟📽️
Ryan Gosling, seriously, still haven’t heard from you. You know where to find me; you must have filmed the scenes for La La Land in this very place for weeks, so you obviously know where it is ;) Text me back ASAP.
A Letter to You: Embrace Your Unique Universe
Dear friend, this letter is for you! Yes, it's for you. You are the most amazing and unique person on earth. There is no one like you anymore.
You can play sports every day and be incredibly productive or lie on the couch for days, watch TV shows and get high. Keep track of nutrition or enjoy fast food: it doesn’t matter. You can earn millions or be unemployed. It has nothing to do with the fact that you are the whole universe. Unique and inimitable. The shape of your nose, the color of your eyes, your height, your physique, it doesn't matter.
Don't beat yourself up for not being like someone else. This person is different. Do not scold yourself for mistakes and do not gnaw - everyone makes mistakes. There is not a single person in the world who at least once in his life would not fall face down in the mud. There are no those who did not stumble and did not regret something.
Stop focusing on your flaws and focus on your strengths. Develop your talents and do what makes you happy.
Appreciate your life and the people around you. Do not let anyone humiliate and offend you. Just know that you are an incredible universe. There is an amazing world inside you, and if someone cannot see it, this is not your problem.
Remember: all the past is in the past and today is a new day. Spend it with pleasure. Live it to the fullest. You are special. There is no other like you.

Beautiful place to visit. The views are absolutely gorgeous. The observatory itself was very educational and offered many hands on-experiences and was very relatable. It is just incredible really nice to walk in and watch the city, is the one on the video game that makes reference, is a good plan to go with family or friends. Great views, Hollywood sign.
Just be careful driving up and down the canyon.
