#helloautumn The Guido Mine was built in 1855 by count Guido Henckel von Donnersmarck, a Prussian baron and industrialist, and it was named after him. Today, Guido is one of the biggest tourist attractions of the Silesian Voivodship. One of the key characteristics of the mine is the possibility to descend underground in an authentic mine cage. The mine offers more than 3.5 km of underground tourist routes that run through 19th and 20th century mine workings on three levels: 170, 320 and 355 metres under the surface. ⛏️ Level 170, called St. Barbara's level, focuses on the patron of miners -her life, death, cult, legends,and the remarkable ethos of the work of a miner. The culmination of the tour is a visit to St. Barbara's Chapel. Original, underground stables from the 19th century have also been preserved here.🐴 Level 320 involves discovering the development of mining techniques from the end of the 19th century up until modern times. There is a possibility to take part in a presentation of the operation of mining machines or take a trip on an electric suspended railway. An inherent part of this level is the K8 Zone - a place of modern culture, business and meetings with an underground pub. 🍻 Level 355 is a journey to the last active longwall,excavated in the second half of the 20th century. It is also a part of the mine, which has been preserved in the same condition as the miners have left it more than twenty years ago. Shaft Maciej is a historic mining plant of the former Concordia Mine, located in Zabrze-Maciejów. Since the 1990s, as a heritage of Zabrze and Silesian hard coal mining, it has been undergoing transformation, turning into a social and cultural space where interesting events, concerts and meetings take place. The Maciej Shaft, built at the beginning of the 20th century, was a complex of buildings and structures with a shaft and infrastructure on the surface for the exploitation of hard coal seams in the western part of the mining area of the Concordia Mine. Today's Shaft Complex was established in the early 1920s under the name "Westschacht". The end of mining in the area of the Maciej shaft took place in 1978, and in 1992 the Pstrowski mine, which also included the Concordia mine, decided to completely liquidate the bottom and surface of the Maciej shaft. Fortunately, however, this did not happen and now Shaft has a new owner #poland #museum

The Maciej Shaft is a mine in miniature. The sightseeing route leads from the top of the hoisting tower through the heart of the mine, i.e. the hoisting machine, to a peek into the depths of the earth. Within the complex there is a post-mine heap, entered in the register of monuments, in front of which there is a stage which is a former viaduct connecting the complex with Gliwice. We are the only facility in the Silesian Voivodeship located simultaneously on the Industrial Monuments Route and the “Silesian Tastes” Culinary Route. For many years, Zabrze has been conducive to activity and promotes active forms of spending time. In order to meet the expectations of residents and guests, in addition to traditional Christmas illuminations, an interactive Park of a Million Lights was created in Kąpielisko Leśne, the theme of which is a journey through the land of the Snow Queen. This winter attraction is a joint project of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center in Zabrze and the Multidekor company. Extraordinary experiences will be provided by the multimedia Crystal Chamber, resembling a huge crown from a distance. In this almost 10-meter installation, you can admire an extremely attractive, colorful light and music spectacle. A kaleidoscope of lights and hypnotizing stars will provide an incredible experience, and the harmony of changing colors and music will be admired from the outside as well as from the inside.
