Hellfire Pass or Hellfire Pass
If you come to Thong Pha Phum - Sai Yok, you must not miss this place.
“Hell Pass” or “Hell Pass”
At first, I intended to stop by or not, but when I got there, I must say that I should definitely come here. This place allows us to experience heartbreaking history. How much did people in the past have to sacrifice to be able to live comfortably until today?
Inside the museum is a collection of photographs and artifacts from the construction of the railway during World War II. The Australian government has set up a museum in an orderly and beautiful way.
For the actual visit, we walked along the nature trails that covered both sides of the pass, making this historical study area shady and allowing people to walk and see history in a way that is close to nature, cool and comfortable. There are stories and artifacts from the time the railway was built as evidence for people to clearly remember the history.
Inside the area, there is a nature study trail to Hell Pass, which is a part of the Death Railway where prisoners of war during World War II cut through the mountain with their hands without modern tools to create a pass for the construction of the Thai-Burma Railway (Death Railway). Today, traces of the railway can still be seen on the railway.
Every April 25th of every year, foreigners And many Thai people traveled to join the ceremony of the Australian-New Zealand POW Remembrance Day, which is called ANSAC DAY, which may be relatives, families, and former POWs from Australia, New Zealand, and many other countries who survived. Flowers, candles, and wreaths are a way to express condolences and remember the loss of loved ones in that incident.
For those who have never been here, I recommend that you come once. You will be very impressed.
