Hotel Fort Canning Singapore Travel Recommendations for 2025 (Updated in Apr)

Super beautiful hotel, bathroom is amazing. Big tub (able to fit 2 pax)! Hotel location is near plaza sing & Dhoby Ghaut mrt but it’s abt 8-15 mins walk to hotel. Arrived at 2.35pm to check in, By 2.53pm I’ve gotten room keys alr! Had a late checkout at 1pm. •Once booking is confirmed you’ll have to fill up a google form for booking of facilities and breakfast booking. *Heard many nice reviews of this place hence I tried out, maybe it’s just not my kind of style. For this price point I felt that I could’ve stayed somewhere else* *notes on why it’s 3 stars* (ROOM) Room is not as clean, soles of the feet will be dirty or dusty. Things in the room are not the cleanest or in best condition. Shower pipe leaks water, table lamp cover has a hole. (Almost everywhere is quite dusty). (B’FAST) Breakfast is not very worth it as it’s semi buffet style, 1 main per pax (a good variety of choices tho). Uunlimited food items are like: Salad, fruits, breads, yogurt, drinks, cereal etc. Breakfast timings avail: 7&8am or 9&10am. (arrived ard 9.15am for breakfast but had to wait for 10 mins or so & we had to share table w someone else as they are overly booked. staffs are not as professional and polite) (POOL) First night swimming booking is 8pm (can’t change earlier as they are fully booked) swimming pool lights were not switched on/ spoilt? An eerie feeling tbh. Next day, the tiles from the pool are literally falling off/ pieces of the tiles are everywhere or just on the ground. (no bathrobes provided) *Not very accessible to head to the gym/pool. Have to walk a few flight of stairs, take a lift to the carpark and enter the club room & take a lift to the pool* 💲Avg. Price - $701 for 2 pax with breakfast. All staycation guests at Hotel Fort Canning are entitled to a 20% dining discount at The Salon restaurant. As a result, we decided to dinner here and ordered the Hokkien mee, a cup of teh tarik and the Impossible meat ragout spaghetti, all of which were fairly tasty but not particularly memorable. After dinner, we stepped out onto the Garden Terrace. There’s something magical about twinkling fairy lights against the charming backdrop of colonial architecture, setting up a romantic ambience and beautiful photo opportunities! Breakfast the next morning was served here as well. Our egg orders were pretty yummy but unfortunately, they stuck strictly to the policy of one main dish per guest. The free-flow items like salad, cereal, fruits and croissants tasted okay. What was appalling though was the service from one of the wait staff. He had a very cold demeanour as he took our orders, not sure if he was having a bad day, but it was not the most pleasant thing to encounter. For this staycation, my husband and I were assigned a Deluxe Room on the second floor (the hotel only has three guestroom levels). The room seemed a little smaller than usual but the high ceiling helped it feel more open and spacious. Most elements were quite well-maintained but there were some aspects that didn’t live up to hygiene expectations. I guess the main draw of the room would be the freestanding tub in a naturally lit marble-clad bathroom, which makes for pretty luxurious soaking. There are two main swimming pools and one kids’ pool located at the far end of the hotel. These pools are touted to be filled with NASA-system levels of treated mineral water in place of the typical chlorine treatment. Due to covid restrictions, many pathways have been sealed off to better manage the flow of people. #exploresgtogether #staycation Everything about this colonial styled hotel is gorgeous! We were given a web link to register before our check in, and this easily allowed us to pre booked our pool slots. Check in was a breeze at the lobby as compared to other hotels that can often get very crowded and tedious! We were given a beautiful room with full windows facing the pool. It was a breath taking sight! If anything, I am further impressed by the massive bathroom (also with windows facing the pool), lots of natural light and the stand alone bath tub where I spent a lot of my in-room time soaking! In room dining is not just convenient here but SURPRISINGLY very delicious! We had pizza, onion soup and fries for dinner and eggs ben and eggs Royale for bfast! We took some time to explore Fort Canning Park the next day and were mesmerised by the sights at Sang Nila Utama Garden! All in all, this staycation ticks everything on my list of having a good time away from home!
