Kanazawa Zoo, also known as Yokohama City Kanazawa Zoo, is a zoo that mainly houses herbivores. The zoo was founded in 1975 and is located in Kanazawa Nature Park, with an elegant environment and lush greenery. The park has four major animal habitat exhibition areas: the Americas, Eurasia, Oceania and Africa, exhibiting a variety of rare animals such as koalas, reticulated giraffes, gibbons, rhinos, Asian elephants, South American tapirs, etc. In addition, visitors can also get close to animals in the square where ponies, goats, sheep and other livestock gather in the park to feel the charm of nature. Kanazawa Zoo is not only a good place to watch animals, but also pays attention to environmental protection and animal protection, and is committed to the protection and breeding of rare animals. At the same time, the Shiikiyama Observatory in the zoo can overlook the beautiful scenery of Tokyo Bay, such as the Sea Park and Hakkeijima, providing tourists with a good sightseeing experience.

Still one of our fave places to visit that’s very nearly in our backyard. It’s quite close, inexpensive and my kids still love the zoo! The ajisai were in full bloom making the walk around the park even more enjoyable! Still enjoy the entrance into the zoo as it’s the most unique thing I’ve ever seen. Some of animatronic need to be fixed as they aren’t as animated as the used to be.

#thingstodo This is a beautiful place to take in.... you enter to a wonderful place to take a picture complete with the date. The stroll to the different animals is lined with beautiful trees and flowers. 🎋🎍🌸🌷Most of the animals were quite active while we were there 🦒🐏🐐🐘🦏🦛🐨🐓🦘and my granddaughter especially loved the monkey! 🐒 A petting area also for the kids as well as an area to have a picnic and for the kids to play! Also plenty of restrooms throughout.

#2024wish Nice place.
Quite a few hills to climb, and it's already near the top of a big hill, great views between animals.
Animals seem happy enough, if a little lonely. Easy to get a good view of most of them.
Plenty of toilets, well spaced and placed around.
Good spaces for stopping for a picnic, bring your own or buy on site.
Sculptures and art works are also shared, some are fun others very life like.
Beware the bus back down to the railway station doesn't run for an hour around midday 😯😳
I wish to travel to South Korea in 2024
