While exploring Yokohama, I discovered that there's a zoo not far from the Minato Mirai area. I decided to walk there, and the route gradually led uphill into a park-like area. At first, I wasn’t sure if I was in the right place I found myself walking along the zoo’s fence but couldn’t see the entrance right away. After walking around a bit more, I finally found the main entrance and was really surprised in a good way to learn that entrance to the zoo is completely free for everyone. They gave me a zoo map at the entrance, and I explored at my own pace. The grounds are large and peaceful, with many well-maintained enclosures. I saw giraffes, zebras, bears, a red panda, various birds, monkeys, and many other animals. Everything looked clean and the animals seemed well cared for. The zoo is in a nice location, great for a daytime visit. I’m not sure they’re open in the evening, so it’s best to check the opening hours before you go. Before leaving, I bought a red panda pin as a souvenir one of my favorite moments from the visit. If you're in Yokohama and want a relaxing, family-friendly place to enjoy nature and animals and for free I definitely recommend stopping by the Yokohama Zoological Gardens.

#Sakura2024 When visiting Kanazawa Zoo, we saw various cute animal demonstrations, including talking parrots and lemurs playing with balls, which made the children very happy. Then I came to the living area of ​​​​gorillas and golden lions. They were playing lively in the trees or on the grass, and their actions were very funny. At noon, I had a hamburger in the restaurant inside the zoo. It was very interesting to watch the animals while eating. At the end of the tour, we came to the sea lion pool. They were rolling in the water, splashing water everywhere, and were very energetic. It was already late when we left, but this experience at the zoo was fulfilling and enjoyable, and I will definitely come again.

#thingstodo Still one of our fave places to visit that’s very nearly in our backyard. It’s quite close, inexpensive and my kids still love the zoo! The ajisai were in full bloom making the walk around the park even more enjoyable! Still enjoy the entrance into the zoo as it’s the most unique thing I’ve ever seen. Some of animatronic need to be fixed as they aren’t as animated as the used to be.
